here is the thing/ Lloyd gets subbed in at 86 minute mark. if you have 6 subs and you have DEPTH, is the coach afraid to take people out due to egos or lack of trust? This is not a pro-Lloyd post. This is a .. you have Press, Mews/Horan, Lavelle, Lloyd... at least 5 players who should play every game in some capacity whether as a starter or sub. And if you think Press is good, then she can go in place of Rapinoe sooner in games. Don't be afraid to take people out IF you say you have depth

I don't get the...wait till there's 5 minutes left and make a bunch of subs. Beyond the clear, cheeseball action of wasting time...the "gamesmanship" (legal cheating) of it...what's the point? I for one, would've liked to see what Lloyd could've of done with 20 or 30 minutes. Heck, same with McDonald. Something needs to be switched as they're not getting it done. - Mewis had a good game. Didn't quite end up with any clean attacks or anything on goal, but, she played well. Good that she got some minutes as she'll be needed for depth. It seemed she was the player du jour for Wagner and Dellacamera and they spoke like she was a new talent. She's been there a while. We know what her capabilities are and what she brings. She's important in the rotation. All the up talk though, it seemed a conscious effort. - Press is continuing to show renewed vigor. It's pleasing to watch. - Pino looks tired, she played tired. - Heath. Gotta love the production, her fight and intensity. Could really do without her pestilent child routine, creeping off the field. Initially thought she was going to get a card for her shove after that confrontation. Just a talking to, in the end. Love her talent, hate her attitude. - Sonnet was a boost to the defense. Important minutes for her as she'll be needed. - I wonder if Morgan is going to experience the same 100th milestone problem Lloyd went through? She's fighting on every play and making things happen and countering, just not getting to graceland. She'll do it, next month. - Would've loved to see O'hara net that diving header. Is it me or does she look thin? - Funny shot of Pugh rising for the header in front of goal and it goes right over her head with room to spare...with her doe-eyed stare...all while she's only 5-6 feet in the air. Even if her production is faltering, she's funny to watch. - Harris. Heath will probably get woman of the match for her goal, but, pleasantly surprising...it was Harris for me. She doesn't get a lot of looks, but, her last couple have been her best. That's enough at this point. That was the first game in YEARS...the team felt anchored and solid in the keeper position. She was clean, decisive, secure in her anticipation and kept her own attitude in check. I'd ride that hot hand for the duration of this cycle. She had a really good game...and it was better than any of Naeher's best games. Would like to get another look at Franch...but, time is fading for this run. They only have 5 matches before the WC. Give them to Harris!.....can't believe I'm saying that ;) . But, you gotta take the hand you're dealt. edit... "to" interjected where needed.

I think Zerboni's hot mic exhortation at the start of this half is instructive of what this team isn't getting from their coach--and this from a player who doesn't even have a slot on this team and I can't remember playing a minute of this tournament. I probably would have sent her for the muscle but would definitely send her now for the fire. This also points up another thing that Hope took with her: her intense generalship at the back. Naeher doesn't seem to have that, and it's another thing we lost with that departure. Other interesting things in this match: Tobin with a great defensive play, winning a footrace against a Brazilian, and molesting defenders. Also Pugh and Morgan bodying opponents off the ball.

..."...Do not let down, do not show weakness...we're fcking winners!" -Zerboni. Really...with a camera right on you for a fan base of 12 year old girls? Seems like you're already a loser, showing your low intelligence and uncontrolled emotion and maybe, why you don't play.

Keep...I know, I'm just as bad...with my love for kicking dead horses and all, ha! But, just posted this on the vid devoted to this clown. For whatever reason, you're enamored by Zerboni's actions and clearly, you're not that stupid and can't even fathom your approval of this attitude. I don't know...just want to help... Anyone applauding this action...really needs to take a look at themselves. Why do you feel the need to have hate as your driving force? Why do you want to see and feel that in the world around you? Why do you want to teach your children that? What is the benefit? That is all this sentiment creates. It really epitomizes hate. "Fcking" is a male coined term for relentlessly pounding your will over someone else in the most self serving manner possible. It has nothing to do with two people. It's not sweet, it's not forgiving. It's about singular reward. It's basically slang for rape, in an effort to soften its negative connotation. Much like, how "gamesmanship" softens cheating. See how that works? It's not right, it's not to be admired, it's not helpful to anyone. It's the ultimate black hole of empathy. Don't get me wrong...I swear like a sailor. But, I don't when I'm around impressionable minds. With the exception of needing to discuss it...like now ;) .
