I'm Japanese and I think the kimono worn by foreign tourists looks wonderful! That's because many of them are taller than Japanese people, so it looks great in photos. I think wearing kimono is also a form of cultural exchange, so I hope people wear them without hesitation! When I was in high school, a foreign exchange student staying with my family expressed a desire to wear a kimono. Seeing how happy she was when I let her wear it, I decided to give it to her as a present. I think It's most gratifying when guests come from afar and leave with joy!

Did all this in 10 days. Honestly, Tokyo itself could be a 10-14 day trip. Was able to explore almost all of it in 4 days but wouldn't recommend unless walking 15-20 miles a day is your thing. You could easily take a quick day trip to Nara from Osaka, it's like an hour away. Quick and easy. Could also easily make a 10-14 day trip of the entire Kansai region (Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, Nara). Also took a day trip to Fujiyoshida and that was awesome. Clear skies of Mt. Fuji and great view at the famed Chureito Pagoda Really wish I stayed in Arashiyama more.
