If Frank McClintock was fit you must play the Captain, he's worth 3 players. Why he was sub I don't know, injury I presume not dropped, Frank is a leader. I'm Leeds fan from Scotland.

After Leeds, Arsenal where the side that got 'stuck in' to opponents with Messrs Simpson & Storey the main protagonists, Chelsea I place third with Chopper Harris main man who'd start a war & walk innocently away.

Didn't The Big Match air on a Sunday, which would have made this programme the 21 January?

Big Match games were not live. Recorded on Saturday for Sunday viewing. Chelsea played in the 1st live Sunday game in 1973 during the Heath miner's strike and the 3 day week, an FA Cup replay?. There was a midday kick off to save turning on the floodlights!

Huddersfield/Luton and Liverpool/Derby played in Arctic conditions and not one outfield player wearing gloves, and the goalkeepers in both games not wearing tracksuit bottoms. Neither match would probably be played these days.

Jimmy Hill looking very young in this video. David Webb at fault for the Chelsea goal, doing what he so often did, tackling by jumping in, going to ground, and missing the ball 32:27. Did the same in the League Cup final with Stoke the previous season, and lost Chelsea the game.
