The sabbath is the 4th commandment and Mathew 5:17 says that Jesus he didnt came to abolish law but to keep the law
@VirginMostPowerfull

The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath. Jesus and his apostles broke the sabbath multiple times without shame. It may be an important day, but it certainly doesn't count as a sin to ignore it anymore. There are civil laws in the old covenant given to Jews, those civil laws are not for us. We follow the moral law which indeed was fulfilled by Jesus Christ. So the sabbath isn't a big deal, for now anyway.

+Bible Flock Box The only thing I am still confused about is. Why in the new testament did Jesus not command us to keep the Sabbath day directly with words, But He did command to keep the other 9 commandments with words... For example He did not use a word like "Shall" where He did for the other 9 commandments. And if we must keep the Sabbath day Saturday, is it not a sin to use any form of electricity on that day(Or any other service). Because using electricity is indirectly forcing someone to work on that day! So you will need someone to be sinning on that day for you to use electricity on that day, so you will be indirectly enforcing sin... And why would it be a sin for a doctor to heal someone on the Sabbath and not a sin for Jesus to heal someone on the Sabbath?

@peppernbo It was the "ceremonial annual feast day sabbaths" that were nailed to the cross & abolished as he said in the video. These ceremonial sabbaths were only given to the Jews, as a sign & shadow of the coming Messiah. So under the New Covenant of Christ, these ceremonial sabbaths were fulfilled & abolished by Jesus' shed blood & therefore were no longer required to be kept by the Jewish Israelites. However the weekly 7th day Sabbath is one of God's eternal Moral Laws found in the 10 Commandments. These were fulfilled by Jesus on the Cross, but were never "nailed" to the Cross & therefore not abolished under the New Covenant of Christ.

Col 2:16-17 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. Rom 14:1-6 Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things. For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables. Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him. Who are you to judge another's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand. One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.

@kedibone techno In Christ we have freedom; in fact, the bible states that He came to free us from the old captivity OT or Old Law; therefore, if you feel you should not work on Saturdays, it is okay according to the bible, what you can not say is that you keep the Sabbath because it is necessary in order to get saved. @Charisma 101 the laws of Moses, which is the book that was on the inside of ark as a witness to all was nailed to the cross, it's yoke was to heavy. The commandments are immutable and never changing. But you still want to refrain from unclean foods as much as possible, just look at all the diseases it causes world wide, even today. It is still food and will keep you alive, but if you have clean food choices available, go with the clean food. Notice we don't sacrifice for atonement for our sins, Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. Read Hebrews chapter 4, it talks about the sabbath day and those who don't keep it are disobedient.

@Charisma 101 that's her opinion, why does that bother you so much. She is just promoting a healthier diet for all. She also condemned coffee, does that ruffle your panties as well? Her writings are amazing, but indeed some things are opinion for a healthier life style, nothing wrong with taking care of our temple that isn't ours and has been paid for with a price. I still eat some meats, my wife is pentecostal and I'm now SDA and out of respect for the meals she cooks I still partake. I don't eat pork at all or she'll fish, I refrain from the unclean foods and 90% of the time the clean meats as well. I'd rather be healthy and I can get more protein from plants, nuts and beans than I ever can from meat. So please forgive me, but I'm a little lost on your argument with EGW, have you ever read any of her writings or are you just going off the things you have read about her online?

+mattjestic1 1 John 2:3-5 - And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. The only commandments John knew was the Torah. Paul said: Romans 2:13 for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified. Roman 3: 31 Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law. Focus on WHAT PAUL DID (He kept the Torah) not on the letters we have misunderstood: 2 Peter 3:15-17: Also, regard the patience of our Lord as an opportunity for salvation, just as our dear brother Paul has written to you according to the wisdom given to him. He speaks about these things in all his letters in which there are some matters that are hard to understand. The untaught and unstable twist them to their own destruction, as they also do with the rest of the Scriptures. Therefore, dear friends, since you know this in advance, be on your guard, so that you are not led away by the error of LAWLESS people and fall from your own stability. Grace is not freedom to do what you want, but the ability to do what God wants. It's all about Him. Don't confuse grace, the free gift with mercy. Don't think that instructions of God are evil, even though they don't save us, they protect us and following them shows God we love and respect him.

Enough with the Sunday law nonsense already. This s nothing more than an SDA conspiracy theory based on a false prophecy by Ellen White and her failure to understand what the mark of the beast is in Revelation 13 & 20. Anyone who pays attention to the Constitution, federal legislation and Supreme Court judgments in this area would know the movement has consistently been away from such a law not towards it. Other countries are much the same. Does anyone really believe Muslim-majority countries would impose a Sunday law - on moslems? Revelation 13:16 & 20:4 are quite clear that the mark has to be a visible one on the right hand or forehead, not an invisible one in either arm or one's mental assent to anything. The Greek word for the kind of mark is χάραγμα (charagma), meaning a stamp, impress, or engraving, such as is used on a coin or seal. The mark is unlikely to be any kind of tattoo, for which the Greek expression would be γράμματα στικτὰ (grammata stikta), as in the Septuagint of Leviticus 19:28. The cultural context also points to a visible physical mark. In that era, slaves received a brand or mark in their flesh, identifying their owner. Soldiers were marked to show what company or phalanx they belonged to. Votaries of idols branded themselves with the idol's cipher or symbol. According to 3 Maccabees, Ptolemy ordered the Jews of Alexandria to be branded with an ivy-leaf symbol of Dionysus. On occasion, access to markets required the offering of incense as an act of worship, in return for which the person received a temporary mark granting access. There is no reason to suppose Revelation 13:16 & 20:4 refer to anything less apparent.

It's okay to, unless you are doing it for legalistic reasons. Under the New Covenant Christ taught us to bear Fruit (Matthew 7:19, John 15:5). This is what really matters. When you have Faith (John 3:16) and Love (John 13:34) Then the Law no longer applies because Love fulfills the Law: Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is NO LAW." 1 Timothy 1:5-9 "Now the end of the commandment is charity (LOVE) out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of "FAITH" unfeigned: From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this, that the LAW IS NOT MADE FOR A RIGHTEOUS MAN, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers," Romans 14:5-6 "One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks."

You need Faith to keep the Law "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law." Romans 3:31 You need Love to keep the Law "....therefore love is the fulfillment of the law" Romans 13:10
@axeattheroot2657
7 жыл бұрын
You don't need Faith to keep the Law because the Law is not of Faith (Galatians 3:12). In fact, the Law even says that the righteous shall live by Faith, but not by the Law. Romans 3:20-22 "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:" Romans 3:27-28 "Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." That's how you fulfill the Law, by Faith and not the works of the Law, and Romans 13:10 also says that Love fulfills the Law too. Once someone comes to Christ they are to live by Faith and love, but to go back under the Law is to fall from Grace (Galatians 3:1-11, 5:1-6). Love and Faith are for the believer to live by, but the Law is for the unrighteous. 1 Timothy 1:5-9 "Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith, 6 from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk, desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm. But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, knowing this: that the LAW IS NOT MADE FOR A RIGHTEOUS PERSON, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,"

This man used Scripture and only Scripture to explain this to all who watch this video. I have read most of the comments here and I must rebuke all who think you don't have to follow His commandments. You are deceived by the father of lies, Lucifer the devil. If you love God you will obey His commandments. If you do not obey His commandments, you do not love Him Who created you. Turn from your sins, repent and be converted! Time is short. End time prophecies are fulfilled, Jesus return is near. Amen.

@Joseph Padron, Hebrews 4:1-3 The Believer’s Rest 4 Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard. 3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said As Christians, we rest in JESUS CHRIST, who is our Sabbath rest.

Bro Anthony, Joseph is not judging He is doing what Jesus would expect of His children - To warn people in error so that we can be saved by grace and not deceived. The Moral law of God stands - Rev 22:14, in the last chapter of the bible,it says, Blessed are they that do His Commandments', Rev 12:17 describes God's last day people as they 'That Keep the Commandments of God & have the faith of Jesus'. This means keeping the 7th day Sabbath as commanded like the others. You break one commandment you break them all James 2:10-14 and we are condemned unless forgiven and led to obedience. No way around it my friend, we are saved by grace and by love to God & through His Holy Spirit we can desire to be and become obedient. Hope this helps, Christian greetings to you. Amen.

Easter comes from Ishtar from Babylon. It was their celebration of fertility, hence the eggs. True, many Christians use Easter to celebrate the resurrection, but the origins of Easter are not of the Lord.

+onyango syprose That is what we use the holiday as. Let me give you what ancient pagans would do. (IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE, PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS). The pagan would give something up as a sacrifice (lent) for a short time, and on Easter, they would prostitute themselves like crazy. Nine months later, they would have the baby. They would cut of the hands and feet if the baby, then they would cut out their eye sockets. Then they would burn the baby as a sacrifice to Ishtar for how thankful they were for all the fun sex they had.

I am in awe of some of the comments I've just read. We profess to be Christians, loving God and wanting to do His will, but we just can't accept the ten commandments huh... If YOU love God, keep His COMMANDMENTS... that's what He, himself, said!!! I'm on shock!! Yes! keeping the law does NOT get you saved, but not keeping it will get you lost... now I want us to reason together. The law is like a mirrror, it shapes us, it helps us mould our character like into God's. Let's think!!! Does someone who commits adultery, steals or bears false witness against his fellow brethren be in the heavenly courts of heaven?? CERTAINLY NOT!! If people despise the idea of the Sabbath so much now, what in Heaven when it will also be kept? The Sabbath is only burdensome to those who don't like it... but in all honesty from the bible ITSELF, the Sabbath was made for YOU!! so that after the weary working weak, you can rest and commune with God. The commandments were not done away with... the laws of Moses which were the burdensome ones were the ones that were done away with. I'm really in awe.... but in all things, we should bear with each in love

The ten commandments is our bases of salvation. So by keeping the ten commandments it is one of our assurance of salvation. John 14:15. If you will not keep the ten commandments, do you think you will be save? Ofcourse not? This is one our requirement to enter heaven. Eccl 12:13-14.

Rex Peter 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 King James Version (KJV) "1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you *the* *gospel* which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also *ye* *are* *saved,* if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that *Christ* *died* *for* *our* *sins* *according* *to* *the* *scriptures;* 4 *And* *that* *he* *was* *buried,* *and* *that* *he* *rose* *again* *the* *third* *day* *according* *to* *the* *scriptures:* " Luke 18:9-14 (KJV) "9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) "8 For by *grace* are ye *saved* through *faith*; and that not of yourselves: it is the *gift* *of* *God:* 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast." Isaiah 64:6 (KJV) “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” Hebrews 6:18 (KJV) “That by two immutable things, in which it was *impossible* *for* *God* *to* *lie,* we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:” Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” Hebrews 10:29 (KJV) “Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? Note: If you are not saved by faith in Jesus, you are judged by the law. Romans 3:23 (KJV) “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 4:2-4 (KJV) “2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; *but* *not* *before* *God.* 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham *believed* God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.” Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV) “21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, *Lord,* *Lord,* have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many *wonderful* *works?* 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was *founded* upon a rock." Note: The people in Matthew called him Lord, so they believed he was Lord, but they were trying to enter heaven by their works, which means they did not trust his promise. Thus rejecting his gift. 1 Corinthians 3:11 King James Version (KJV) "11 For other *foundation* can no man lay than that is laid, which is *Jesus* *Christ* ." Note: There are still earthly consequences we can be saved from by our works, but our works will not save us from eternal condemnation. Only God will. God is not mocked he will discipline the saved who live like the world on earth, and even loss of eternal rewards, but they will still be saved. 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 (KJV) "10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the *foundation* , and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 *For* *other* *foundation* *can* *no* *man* *lay* *than* *that* *is* *laid,* *which* *is* *Jesus* *Christ.* 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but *he* *himself* *shall* *be* *saved;* yet so as by fire." 1 Corinthians 5:5 King James Version (KJV) "To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the *flesh*, that the *spirit* may be *saved* in the day of the Lord Jesus." John 6:28-29 (KJV) “28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” John 6:40 (KJV) “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:39-40 (KJV) “39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and beleveth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) “8 For by grace are ye saved through *faith*; and that not of yourselves: it is the *gift* *of* *God:* 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Romans 3:20 (KJV) “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Titus 3:5 (KJV) “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to *his* *mercy* *he* *saved* *us,* by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” Exodus 32:14 King James Version (KJV) "And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people." Note: We can see from Exodus 32:12 that God "repented". Does that mean “turn from sin”? No, it does *not*. God cannot sin. This verse is talking about a punishment, a curse on the people for their sins. The scriptures reveals to us that the Biblical meaning of repent is ‘a change of mind’. So for those who have not yet, please repent(change your mind) and believe on Jesus Christ, that he is sufficient for the forgivenes of all your sins. Eternal life is through Christ. Deuteronomy 11:27-28 (KJV) "27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day: 28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known." James 1:13-15 (KJV) "13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death." Note: In context we can see when evil is mentioned here in James, it means sin in context of what man does. Revelation 1:8 (KJV) “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” Note: Alpha is the first letter in the Greek language and Omega is the last. 1 John 5:7 (KJV) “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” 1 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” Only believing God(The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit) is One God is not enough to save us. Why? because we must believe what The One God *did* for you, for *all* of us. That you are saved and have eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ; the finished work of God. John 19:30 (KJV) "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost." Titus 3:5 (KJV) "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;" 1 John 5:13 (KJV) “These things have I written unto you that *believe* *on* *the* *name* *of* *the* *Son* *of* *God;* that ye may *know* that *ye* *have* *eternal* *life,* and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

Every day is holy to the Lord not just Saturday (you call it sabbath) we can pray, praise and worship him anytime any day, anywhere because the Lord Jesus Christ is the sabbath
@kallyjon
4 жыл бұрын
we must therefore recognize that the weekly sabbath, i.e., Saturday, is not the real sabbath. It never was, and it is not now. It is a picture or a reminder of the real sabbath. The true sabbath is a rest; the Jewish sabbath is a shadow, a picture of that rest. All the Old Testament shadows pointed to Christ. They were predictions, fore views, of the coming of the One who would fulfil all these remarkable things. Every lamb that was brought as an offering was a shadow of the work of Christ. Every burnt offering, every bit of incense that was offered, was a picture of the fragrance of Jesus Christ. The tabernacle was a shadow of him. The high priest, in his garments and his office, was a shadow of Christ as our High Priest. Read the book of Hebrews and you will see how beautifully all this is brought out. These Old Testament shadows were looking forward to the coming of the One who would fulfil these and thus end them. When the work of Jesus Christ was finished, the shadows were no longer needed. The shadow-sabbath ended at the cross, as Paul has made clear. The next day was the day of resurrection, the day when the Lord Jesus came from the tomb. On that day, a new day began -- the Lord's day. Christians immediately began to observe the Lord's day on the first day of the week. They ceased observing the Sabbath because it was ended by the fulfillment of its reality in the cross, and they began to observe the first day of the week. This is what you find reflected in the book of Acts. Justin Martyr, who writes from the 2nd century, says, But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, when he changed the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ, our Saviour, on the same day, rose from the dead. A fifth fact about this: Though this shadow-sabbath, i.e., Saturday observance, ended at the cross, the true sabbath, the rest of God, God's ceasing from effort, continued and continues today. That sabbath, in its application to us, is defined for us in Hebrews 4, Verses 9 and 10: So then, there remains a sabbath rest for the people of God [it is available to us now]; for whoever enters God's rest also ceases from his labours as God did from his. (Hebrews 4:9-10) That is what the true sabbath is, to cease from your own labours, your own efforts, your own activity; to cease from your own works. "Well," you say, "if I did that I would be nothing but a blob, an immobile inactive piece of flesh." Exactly! Of course, you would. But the implication is that you cease from your own efforts and depend on the work of Another. That is the whole import of the book of Hebrews, another One is going to work through you. Therefore, Paul cries, "Not I, but Christ. I no longer live, but Christ lives in me," (cf, Gal 2:20). This was also the secret of the life of Jesus, as we have seen. He himself said, "It is the Father who dwells in me who does the work," (cf, John 14:10). "The Son can do nothing by himself," (cf, John 5:19). This is the secret of the Christian who learns "it is God who works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure," (cf, Phil 2:13). So, the secret of true Christian life is to cease from dependence on one's own activity, and to rest in dependence upon the activity of Another who dwells within. That is fulfilling the sabbath, the true sabbath. Going to church or the Temple on Saturday was NEVER in the command for the Sabbath, is was a rest day for land people animals, Jesus obeyed the Sabbath, when he went to the cross, the Sabbath day was gone, our rest is taken by Christ. www.ldolphin.org/sabbathrest.html

Although the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) likes to claim credit for changing the sabbath from Saturday to Sunday and conspiracists - especially those of a Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) persuasion - love to blame them for it, the fact of the matter is that the change began centuries before the RCC existed. The earliest _clear_ reference to Sunday worship is found in the _Epistle of Barnabas_ (c.120), in which the writer says: “Your present sabbaths are not acceptable to Me… we keep the eighth day with joyfulness, the day also on which Jesus rose again from the dead”. Justin Martyr (c.140) wrote of “memoirs of the apostles” being read on “the day called that of the sun” alongside the “writings of the prophets” ( _First Apology_ 67). Many others also wrote of Christian worship on Sundays well before the 4th century; and of other Christians who continued to worship on Saturdays. Although Constantine (not the RCC) made Sunday the official Roman day of rest (in 321AD), doing so merely abolished the 8-day week that had been the norm until then in various parts of the Roman Empire and facilitated what was by then a widespread, centuries-old, majority Christian preference in the western Roman Empire for worshiping on Sundays. Sunday worship wasn't universal then and never has been. The Council of Laodicea (c.363/4) tried (unsuccessfully) to stamp out sabbath observance by anathemetizing anyone who worshipped on Saturday. Again, this was long before the RCC came into existence - in the eastern part of the church. As late as the 5th century, Socrates of Constantinople and Sozomen cite the seventh day as the Christian day of worship except for Christians in Rome and Alexandria.

Seven is sabbath in Hebrew. Saturday is the 7 day of the week. Even heard a beloved preacher recognize the meaning of the word Sabbath in Hebrew yet proceeded to explain why they "keep" the Sunday, odd! Do you think that keeping the Sabbath on Saturday is a blessed divine understanding that the Lord has to put in his children's hearts? Ever since I gave my heart to the Lord, as a teenager, in a regular Sunday going church I was always bothered by the fact that they didn't keep the Sabbath on Saturday... To this day I cannot understand why most Christians minds are closed to this understanding :-(

No one here has always kept the Sabbath. Once saved, the Gospel does not get worse. It's not like He forgives all past sins, but once you come to Christ He then expects perfection to the law or any commandment. Jesus said He came to do the will of the Father. He was most assuredly successful. The law in totality has been fulfilled. So all sins of every person have been paid for...if you do the will of the Father....believe in His Son. That is it. Few enter the narrow gate. I'm sure most of you saw a snippet of an Oprah show where she says "there couldn't possibly be one way. What about Jesus?" She is a new age deceiver. As the pope, she is saying we can enter through the wide gate, by any faith in "God." No, Jesus is the gate. To be with God, we must enter through Him. God is just. Yet, through His love and grace, sacrificed His eternal Son on our behalf. No Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, Hindu, etc. along with the new-agers and willing ignorant atheist will enter eternal salvation with the Father. And those "Christians" with the false belief of mixing grace and law will enter. Repent and give you life to Jesus. You will be justified which guarantees you glorification and salvation. For the rest of this life, the Holy Spirit will sanctify you, helping and comforting you. He will remind you of the love of Jesus. Through Him, you will now hate sin of any type. He will help you bear good fruit. You will want to be Christ-like and want to do well and please God. Remember, there does not need be a completion of sanctification. We are not judged by our obedience to the commandments. Jesus has been obedient for us. If sinning is the transgression of the law, all will be condemned unless you accept the free (no stipulations) gift of God. We no longer sin in the spirit. We are in Christ and He in us. We are then found blameless and righteous, because He was. He was sinless and He bore the sins of the world. Stop worrying and threatening fellow Christians to keep the law. We have kept it perfectly through Jesus! First believe in Him...repent and give your life to Him. Then, do two things. 1) Love God 2) Love you fellow man. Hate the sin, but love the person. And live in freedom, not in fear. He will not abandon you. He has you in His loving arms forever. Now everyone knows the Sabbath is the 7th day, Friday evening to Saturday evening. If you want to rest and worship on that day, you can. We are under Grace, the New and better covenant. All, even Adam, Abraham, Moses, David and those living at His one and only Second Coming will be judged on faith, not their obedience to any law or commandment. The wicked have no faith in Christ. They will be judged by there measuring up to the law. All are transgressors, so without accepting Grace, the will be held accountable and one sin sends to the lake. You decide if you want His awesome, loving gift of eternal salvation. Accept it and live His Grace a covenant made between God and Jesus...or disregard His gift of mercy and live under the covenant made between God and Israel, obeying every jot and tittle on you own. If we obey God today, we do it out of want not of needing to. We do so by the Holy Spirit not by a fearful mind. He said you had to be perfect like your Father in Heaven. There is only one way to be perfect...accept the only one who was and will ever be perfect, equal to the Father, His eternal Son, Jesus Christ. AMEN

Most people don't really read the Bible for themselves and are just novices. I grew up in a church as well, and am a preacher's son. I really did start to notice a lack of depth and understanding in the church when I became a teenager too. But, I can say now after deep studying that the Law has changed (Hebrews 7:12-22) and that we are no longer under the Old Covenant (Hebrews 8:13) which includes the Ten Commandments (Hebrews 9:4). We are now to keep the Law Of Christ under the New Covenant (1 Corinthians 9:20-21; Galatians 6:2) but no longer the Old Law (Galatians 3:1-12; 4:21-5:1). We are dead and delivered from the old Law to now serve in the Spirit (Romans 7:4-6; 2 Corinthians 3:6-17). The Commandments under the New Covenant are: John 3:16; 13:34; 15:12,17; 1John 3:23; 4:7-8; 2John 1:5-6; Galatians 5:6; 1Timothy 1:5-9. Paul was worried about new converts getting caught up in following the Old Law because it is now apostasy to follow (Galatians 5:4) and he also warned them specifically about no longer adhering to the Old Mosaic Law of Holy days, monthly festivals, jubilee years and sabbath days (Galatians 4:9-11). Keeping the sabbath is spiritual now just as circumcision is (Romans 2:28-29; Hebrews chapter 4).

+John Edward It's all about what preconceived notions you start with. I guess you would scoff at the idea that through deeper study I have come to realize the instructions of are loving Father are more relevant today than ever, sure the atonement process is fulfilled by Jesus, but how a follower of God is to live is still the same...God changes not.

it's amazing the antagonistic posts on the Sabbath. The Sabbath exposes tremendous rebellion and great faith. That is why God's Law is ALSO in the New Covenant which Jesus is Mediator of; "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I WILL PUT MY LAW IN THEIR INWARD PARTS, AND WRITE IT IN THEIR HEARTS; AND WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

I've also tried to tell this to my family but they seem to be unwilling to accept But I'll try to show this video to them. Thanks for the video bro, GOD bless

christian basiya I am the only person in my pentecostal family who accepted the sabbath (Saturday as Gofs day) I asked my pastor why wasn't us as christians keep it and my EX pastor told me do not talk about it here (church) I know is the sabbath but it would be too controversial. Since then Ive became Adventist. I stopped listening to Pastors and ho home, I started studying the word myself deeply and I found truth. the thruth made me free!! the truth transformed me.

+Rebeca Montes/You will be left behind. Hebrews . 10:25,says forsake not the assembly of yourselves. You go to work everyday with wicked co-workers and bosses.If you're a student, you go to class everyday with wicked classmates and teachers.So don't tell God that you won't go to church because you disagree with a pastor. Every Christian is given at least one gift. The gifts are for the church, not your home. Hebrews 13:17 said obey them that rule over you, for they watch for your soul. How are they going to watch for your soul if you are not there. Your boss would fire you for not coming to work. Your teacher would fail you for not coming to class. Satan has deceived you.You're like a lone sheep scattered on the hill.The goat would butt you,the dog would bite you or the wolf would rip you up.You are not only in the church for yourself but for others.How do you know what God is calling you to be? You are in rebellion to God. If you don't agree with your pastor then find another church. You owe God to be on the church, not the pastor. And by the way you are wrong about the sabbath. Paul settled the sabbath issue 2,000 years ago. Read Col.2:14-17 and Romans chapter 14.Stop following doctrines and traditions of men.Believe the bible and Paul over them.Let God be true and everyman a liar.You also should be paying tithes to support a church.

Ok so I'm born Jewish. Born in a Jewish hospital delivered by a Jewish doc. formal Jewish Bris. Went to Yesevah. Bar Mitzvahed in Temple. BORN AGAIN IN JESUS in 1991. Legalistically speaking wish I didn't have to put it that way yes the Sabbath has and always is on the last day of the week Friday night at Sunset till Saturday night at sunset blah blah blah. How many times do I have to explain this... The reason why born-again believers Fellowship on a Sunday is because the king of the Jews the Lord Jesus Christ himself raised himself from the dead on Sunday the first day of the week look at your calendar Sunday is still the first day of the week. People who meet together on Sunday morning are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ every Sunday which is appropriate. So to recap for the 1 billionth time. Legalistically speaking the Sabbath or the Shabbos or an English the day of rest legalistically is from Friday night Sunset till Saturday night sunset. Legalistically speaking Jesus rose from the dead on Sunday the first day of the week and Believers in Christ gather together on Sunday morning whether they realize it or not not to celebrate the Sabbath but to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ the greatest event in the history of humanity and the Earth as well as the entire universe this is the greatest event that ever happened Jesus raising for himself from the dead Now let's throw all the legalism and the BS out the window. The scripture plainly states and I'm not going to give chapter and verse you should read it for yourself look it up Google it... The scripture plainly states that Jesus is our Sabbath Hebrews chapter 4 is very plain when it says there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God to enter today if you hear his voice do not Harden your heart. We are no longer under obligation to the law because no one can be saved by keeping the law if that were the case Jesus would not have to have come to Earth and died for our sins. I use the name Jesus instead of Yeshua for the simple reason that I was born in New York City not Tel Aviv when I was born in New York City in 1958 the New York City metropolitan area had more Jews then Israel Europe and Russia combined So to answer the age-old question is Saturday the Sabbath legalistically it is is Sunday the Sabbath it never was we are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead Jesus was in the grave all day Saturday observing the Hebrew Sabbath and not working his work was done on Sunday morning when he raised himself from the dead That being said... There is no longer a Sabbath day for those of us who have been born again and saved by the blood of Jesus Christ there is neither Jew nor Gentile nor male or female nor Greek nor slave for all are one in Christ Jesus but I am a lunatic and talking to the air because you guys will be debating this until the second coming Jesus is the lord of the Sabbath Jesus Christ is our Sabbath rest So if you are saved and born again in Yeshua Jesus Messiah the Christ how about this Emmanuel God With Us Emmanuel's a Hebrew word and it means god with us that's who Jesus Christ is In conclusion if you are in Christ you have entered into his Sabbath rest permanently not just legalistically one day a week but 24/7 365 that is your Sabbath 365 days out of the year the Lord commands us to rest in his son Jesus Christ for it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives through me I died in my life is now hitting and God with Christ I take that literally death is definitely rest I have died to my old self and I am born again and saved through the death blood and resurrection of Jesus Christ who is in fact himself the Sabbath not restricted by a 24-hour time period from Sundown to sundown And in the same way every day we are being raised a new and a fresh in Christ Jesus and to merely celebrate Jesus's resurrection on a Sunday well I understand it but most people who go to church think that they're celebrating the Sabbath but then Jesus was mad at the religious leaders of his time for laying a yolk and a chain so heavy around the neck of people who are seeking after the kingdom of God the kingdom of God does not consist in words or laws the kingdom of God is a miracle that God the Father birth to himself into the flesh 100% man Jesus Christ and 100% God the Almighty one man fully God fully human Celebrating the Sabbath on a Saturday saves nobody Celebrating the resurrection or the Sabbath on a Sunday saves nobody Only in faith in Jesus perfect sinless life though tempted in all fashions believing that he never fell or gave into sin once believing that he is God the father in the flesh believing that he died a criminal's death as an innocent man to pay the price for all of our crimes against each other and the Lord and finally and foremost believing that he rose himself from the dead for if you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved but if we confess our sins to him God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us and purify us from all unrighteousness. So you can light your candles say your Hail Marys put on your yamikas tallies and tvillian and put a muzzuah on your door and it don't mean nothing only the blood of the Lamb of God who was slain for the sins of the world will save any of us no religious practices or keeping of the law will save you Salvation can be found in Jesus Christ and him alone and nowhere else ever Shalom Bubbalas good SHABBOS or Shabbat SHALOM and let's keep factioning or we could proclaim.... Thank you for this video! You did a great job! I see many of the comments that want to say that we are not under the law but under grace that the Sabbath is done away with. Interestingly enough those same people have no problem with the other 9 commandments. The Sabbath was instituted at creation a couple thousand years before there were any Jews. Marriage was created on the 6th day and the Sabbath was created on the 7th day. So sad that so few people accept the 7th day Sabbath.

we must therefore recognize that the weekly sabbath, i.e., Saturday, is not the real sabbath.

1. Do you believe that true Christians lose their salvation if they do not keep the Sabbath? 2. Very few people actually believe that sunday is a Sabbath... But even so, it's a side issue so I wouldn't jump on it so severely. 3. I wouldn't say that we can say definitively that the Lord's day is the Sabbath, but I do think that makes more sense. 4. Hebrews 4 contextually is not a proof text for the Sabbath. It says there remains a "Sabbath rest" for the people of God, the section is actually talking about Jesus Christ as the "rest" that we have because of our "peace with God" (Romans 5:1) that peace is in Christ alone, not in our works. It greatly concerns me that you rip that section from it's context. 5. Matt 24:20 is an awesome proof text for the Sabbath, that's one of the things that makes me think that the Sabbath is still in effect. Very interesting verse. 6. Revelation 14 doesn't really seem to be saying anything about the Sabbath, that seems like an SDA specific thing, I don't know of anyone else who interprets that section that way... 7. Christians do not keep sunday because they are deceived. If there were a group that taught that Ellen White was the anti-Christ and we worshipped her (even though I don't believe in her "ministry" but as a Sabbatarian I'll say "we") by keeping Sabbath, I would say that was preposterous, and I would quote Romans 14 to let that possibly well-meaning person know that it was wrong to let the day I worship on become some kind of determining factor in my salvation. I'm saying the same thing to you. I'm all for making videos about the Sabbath, but don't misinform people. The devil seeks to make us disbelieve the gospel, he isn't overly concerned where we fall on a side matter 8. On your point 13, John 6:37 Jesus Himself said He won't cast out anyone who comes to Him. In John 10:26-30 we read But you don’t believe because you are not My sheep. 27 My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish-ever! No one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 The Father and I are one true believers won't be lost, in-face in 1 John 2:18-19 John expressly states that the reason people left the faith is because they were never saved. He doesn't say they lost their salvation, he says they never had it. I would encourage you to look into the issue. Your works can't save you, they can't keep you saved either, only Jesus saves, only Jesus keeps. 9. The papacy has nothing to do with the "change of Sabbath." People were worshiping on sunday in the first century, and there's solid evidence that the first Christians kept the Sabbath AND sunday. Rome has literally nothing to do with sunday. The catholic church rewrites history and claims all sorts of things, so I don't really care what they say. 10. Jesus is the seal of God, not what day we worship on. Acts 16:31 11. Romans 4:11 is talking about circumcision as an OT sign, the circumcision was replaced by baptism. 12. The SDA doctrine of the "sunday law" makes no sense with what is written in Revelation 13... there's literally no reason to assume that it's talking about a sunday law, in-fact you can't prove that without Ellen G. White. It isn't a doctrine that can be proved by the Bible only.13. the RCC didn't change the Sabbath, that's a myth. It's silly to say that observing sunday is accepting papal authority.14. keeping the Sabbath isn't legalistic, of course. However, making it into a salvational issue and saying that you can lose your salvation for not worshiping on the "right" day is legalism

There are no New Testament texts that say God, Jesus, or the apostles changed the Sabbath to Sunday. This is very significant, and we will explain why. You are perhaps aware that circumcision was a huge issue during the apostolic era of the first century. Conservative Jewish Christians insisted that Gentiles who wanted to become Christians should be circumcised first (well, the men at least!) and observe the other Jewish ceremonial laws. In other words, in order to be a Christian, a Gentile would first have to become a Jew. Then he could be a Christian. Paul said No. He insisted that Gentiles can come to Christ and be Christians directly, without having to go through Judaism (see for example Romans 3:25-29; 1 Corinthians 7:19; Galatians 2:12; 5:6-15; Ephesians 2:11; Titus 1:10). Therefore, Gentiles did not have to be circumcised in order to become Christians. Keep in mind that Sabbath was just as important to Jews as circumcision, and probably even more so. Thus, had Paul or any other apostle taught that the Sabbath was changed to the first day of the week, they would have raised a storm of protest from these conservative Jewish Christians, and this would have been just as evident in the New Testament as the controversy over circumcision. The total absence of any such controversy over a change in the day of worship is one of the best evidences that the apostles and other New Testament Christians did not change the day. In fact, we have a record of many Sabbaths that Paul and his traveling companions kept. You can read about them in Acts 13:14, 27, 42-44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4. Acts 13:42-44 is especially significant. Paul and Barnabas had been invited to speak at a Jewish synagogue, and the Bible says that when the service was over, "the people invited them to speak further about these things on the next Sabbath." This would have been a great opportunity, had Paul believed that the Sabbath had been changed to Sunday, for him to tell the people to meet with him the next day rather than waiting a whole week. But the Bible says that "on the next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord."

Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 1john 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. Galatians 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. 1. The law is not done away with it is established. Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. (As the Bible said it will be.) Isaiah 42:21 The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law and make it honourable. 2. The law does not save. Its job is to define sin. Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Read Romans 6 3. Love leads us to follow the law. Paul list’s directly six of the Ten Commandments. Romans 13:8,9 Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Ephesians 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) So does Jesus. Matthew 19:17 -19 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 4. In the book of Hebrews the New Covenant states the laws are to be written into our hearts not done away with. The New Testament directly quotes from the Old Testament Jeremiah 31. Hebrews 8:8,10 For finding fault with the saith Behold the days com saith the Lord which I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days saith the Lord I will put my laws into their mind and write them in their hearts: and I will be to their GOD AND THEY SHALL BE TO ME A PEOPLE. Hebrews 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 2Corithians 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. 5. Of the other four all will admit that it is a sin to have other gods, bow down and worship idols and to take the name of GOD in vain. *DOES KEEPING THE SPIRIT OF THE LAW NULLIFY THE LETTER OF THE LAW?* This is an important point that many sincere Christians misunderstand. They think that keeping the law in spirit does away with the 4th commandment and the seventh day Sabbath. Paul spoke a number of times about keeping the “spirit of the law” rather than the “letter of the law.” The problem is, we sometimes take verses on their own and don't look at the context of what is being taught. So what is the truth about the spirit and the letter? Let's look at the Bible verses. “But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.” Romans 7:6 “Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” 2 Corinthians 3:6 What Paul was saying was that anyone under the old covenant, anyone who broke the law of God would be put to death. Ezekiel 18:20 .....”The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” But now through the perfect blood of Christ Jesus, we have been "delivered" from certain death. We are all sinners and all deserve death, but through the grace of God and the perfect life and sacrifice of Christ Jesus, we can be delivered from our sins and have life! Paul was not saying the law was done away with, he was saying that where as before the cross, the law was a ministration of death because there was ONLY the law, but now through Christ, we have Grace and a newness of Spirit - the death penalty therefore no longer applies for those who are in Christ. Christ now enables us to keep the law without fear of death because He has already paid the price. Let's think about this in a practical worldly way. *Let's say a police officer stops you for speeding in your car. At this very moment, you are 'UNDER THE LAW'. Now, let's say the police officer is in a good mood and just gives you a caution and lets you go. You are no longer 'under the law', you are now under the 'grace' of that officer.* *Now, does this mean you no longer need to keep the law, because the officer let you off? Of course not, you should be EVEN MORE DILIGENT in keeping the law. This also applies to God's law. Just because we have been 'let off' so to speak, through the righteousness of Jesus Christ doesn't mean we are now free to break God's holy commandments just as the person who was stopped by the police can drive off and go and break the speed limit all over again. Do you see this?* Now going back to the spirit and the letter that Paul talked about above, we can see that in the new covenant, keeping the law in "spirit" supersedes the “letter” of the law. But what does that mean exactly? Paul said, “for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” Does it mean we no longer need to keep the Ten Commandments? Does it mean we no longer need to keep the Sabbath day? No, what Paul is saying is that we now need to keep the law in a spiritual way, in the spirit it was intended, and not just according to the letter. Let's further define what this means: Example A: "Thou shalt not commit adultery." This the letter of the law. Exodus 20.14 But Jesus said, “anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” This is the spirit of the law. Matthew 5.27 Would it now be permissible to commit adultery with a woman while observing the spirit of the law, the letter of the law having been done away with? Of course not! Example B: "Thou shalt not murder" This the letter of the law. Exodus 20.13 But Jesus said, “do not call your brother fool and he who does is in danger of hell fire.” This is the spirit of the law. Matthew 5.21 Is it therefore permissible to kill your brother/neighbor, the letter of the law having been done away with while observing the spirit of the law? Of course not - such an argument is absurd! Example C - The Sabbath: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God.” This is the letter of the law. Exodus 20.8 But Jesus said, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” This statement by Jesus exemplifies the spirit of the law. Mark 3.1 Clearly, Jesus is not saying the law is abolished but that there are times when mercy to others, to do good, to save life is superior to the letter of the law. So, how does the Sabbath commandment work in relation to the spirit in a practical sense?Let's consider another example. The 4th commandment says that we are not to do ANY work on the Sabbath. But - what if a person had fallen down an old disused mine shaft and needed someone to climb down and help to get him out on the Sabbath day. To rescue the person might require ropes, shovels, ladders and perhaps a lot of digging. It would require us to work. Should we help him, even though it would be a kind of "work"? The Pharisees would say no, just as they condemned Jesus for healing the cripple on the Sabbath. They only saw the letter of the law and missed the more important part concerning mercy, justice, compassion - missing the spirit of the law out entirely! Today, the Christian world goes completely the opposite way. In fear of being like the Pharisees, and of being labeled by other Christians as 'legalistic', they ignore the law all together and in so doing, justify breaking God's holy law. And this was the point Paul was trying to make when he said, “we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.” Romans 7.6 Do you see the new way we are to keep the law? We are to continue keeping the law but in spirit, not in the letter as the Pharisees did who were void of justice, mercy and compassion. We should always allow mercy and love to others to supersede the letter of the law but this does not mean we can break the law. The ONLY grounds that God allows us to 'temporarily' discontinue keeping the law is when the life saving or medical needs of others, or ourselves, come into play. How did Jesus Demonstrate the Spirit of the Law? How did Jesus teach us to keep the law? Did He give us any lessons about keeping the law in spirit over the letter? Yes He did, let's take a look at the following Bible verses: ”At that time Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungered, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat. But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the Sabbath day. But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungered, and they that were with him; How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the Sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless?' Matthew 12:1-5 So how was it that the disciples who reaped in a small way on the Sabbath, which was "working", were not guilty of breaking the 4th commandment? Or how was it that David was guiltless, when he entered the temple and ate the shewbread which according to the letter of the law was not lawful for him to do? How was it that the priests that "profaned" the Sabbath according to the letter of the law by working in the temple were not guilty either? The answer is because there was HUMAN NEED. And as we have shown in our previous examples, human need (love for your neighbor) comes above the letter of the law (specific commands). Do you see this? The disciples were not guilty for picking corn on the Sabbath because they were hungry and NEEDED food. David was not guilty for eating the sacred shewbread in the temple because there was human need and he and his companions NEEDED food. There was no time to make bread becuase king Saul was on his heels hunting David down. The priests were not guilty by offering sacrifices on the Sabbath, because there was human need and the people NEEDED to offer the sacrifices for their sins. And look what Jesus told the Pharisees: “But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.” Matthew 12:7 Mercy and love comes above the letter of the law. This is what Paul was saying in that we need to keep the law in spirit, rather than in letter. The Pharisees were guilty of keeping the letter of the law OVER the spirit of the law. They would easily pass by someone in need on the Sabbath in order to keep the letter of the law. But keeping the law in 'spirit' in no way does away with ANY specific commands. Keeping the law in 'spirit' actually magnifies the law!

+BloodOfYeshuaMessiah Are you asking a rhetorical question, and answering yourself? Or are you open to having an honest and respectful dialog? I will give you the answer to Romans 3:31 that confuses many people. We are justified by FAITH, not by LAW (Rom 3:28, Gal 2:16)Abraham and his heirs are blessed on account of FAITH, not LAW (Rom 4:13-14)You can live by FAITH or LAW (Rom 4:14)No one who relies on the LAW is justified for the righteous live by FAITH (Gal 3:11)The LAW is not of FAITH (Gal 3:12)Summary: You can live by faith or law but not both. Since faith has nothing in common with law, and living under one nullifies the other, how do we explain this verse? Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. (Rom 3:31) How do we establish or uphold the law? By trusting in Jesus: So the law was put in charge of us until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law. (Gal 3:24-25) You do NOT establish the law byTrying to keep it (you can’t)Adopting it as a standard for holy living (see Heb 10:1)Mixing it with grace (you’ll end up lukewarm and alienated from Christ)Thinking your rule-keeping pleases the Lord (trusting in your flesh never pleases him)Posting it on your Sunday School wall (it’s a ministry that condemns!)Telling yourself “it’s part of our Christian heritage” (it never was!)You DO uphold the law by putting your faith in the One who fulfilled all the righteous requirements of the law on your behalf and now offers you his perfect righteousness as a gift. Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. (Rom 10:4) Romans 3:31 says we uphold the law by faith. Let’s look at the verse in context: verse 28: You are justified by faith, not by law. Verse 29: In any case only one nation received the law, yet God is God of all. Verse 30: God will justify both the Jew and non-Jew by faith. Verse 31: Does that mean God’s gift to the Jews was wasted? Not at all! As long as you end up with Jesus, then you uphold the law The Jews were misusing the law. They thought it made them righteous and pleasing to God. Paul wrote to correct this: No one is righteous. All have sinned and fall short - even the law-loving Jews. The law doesn’t make you righteous; it makes you conscious of sin so that you may be justified freely by grace. (my paraphrase of Romans 3:10-24). Live by the law and you dishonor both it and Jesus. Living by the law is spiritual adultery (see Rom 7:1-6). It’s cheating on the One who died to set you free from the law’s heavy demands. The law points to Jesus. If you are relying on Christ’s perfect work, then you uphold the law and honor the reason for which it was given.

You mention Abraham who lived by RIGHTEOUSNESS. Agreed. We SHOULD live by righteousness, just as Abraham did. But knowing this..did Abraham disobey the law because he lived by righteousness? The word of God says Abraham DID keep the law. "Abraham obeyed me and did everything I required of him, *keeping my commands*, my decrees and my instructions." Genesis 26.5 And so, where does this lead us......it leads us to GRACE. But unfortunately it follows on the lie that because of grace we need not keep the commandments and that well loved phrase I hear Christians quoting all the time, "I don't need to keep the law now, I'm under grace, not under the law". "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." Romans 6:14 While it is indeed true we do have a New Covenant of grace through Christ , there is no mention that the Commandment law has been abolished as a result of grace. The verse simply says Christians are not under the law but under grace, meaning we do not come under the penalty of the law anymore - which is death, but come under the forgiving grace of Christ. The problem is that the majority of Christians stop right at the end of verse 14 and ignore the very next verse which says ..... "Shall we sin (break the law) because we are not under the law but under grace? God forbid." Romans 6.15 Now remember, in 1 John 3.4, the Apostle tells us in no uncertain terms that sin is transgression of the law. "Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." So when he says in Romans 6.15, "Shall we sin (break the law) because we are not under the law but under grace", Paul is saying in the strongest possible language that being under grace does not give a license to break or disregard the Commandment law. Yet this is exactly what millions believe today, and totally ignore Paul's specific warning. Notice what Paul wrote; "Seeing it is one God, who shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Do we then make void [abolish] the law through faith? No, in no wise; to the contrary, we establish the law." Romans 3.31 I don't think Paul could make it any clearer, do you? Paul is reiterating that what ever we do under the law does not justify us before God because it is faith that saves but he also clearly emphasizes that faith itself does not abolish the law because the very definition of sin is the transgression of the law. After all, we would not know what sin is unless we have the law showing us. “On the contrary, I would not have known sin if it were not for the law. ... But, I did not know sin except by the law.” Romans 7.7 We see now the purpose of the law. As a mirror allows us to see the dirt on our face, it causes us to seek water to clean ourselves, likewise, the purpose of the law is to cause us to see the sin in our lives and drive us towards the cleansing grace of Christ. This is the purpose of the law! Think a bout it this way; Say you were found guilty of murdering someone, and the law of the land sentenced you to death. Can you "work" your way to freedom? No, because you are under the law and it demands your life. The only way you can be free, is if a judge has compassion on you and pardons you. Let's say that happens; A judge comes along and pardons you. You are now under grace and no longer under the law, which demanded your life. You are free!! Now, do you leave thinking, "I'm free!! I found grace with the judge, I'm free to go and commit more crimes, because I'm now under grace, not under the law!" Of course not. Any person with an ounce of gratitude would now go and KEEP the law the best they could. And anyway, does the law of the land now become void because you found grace from the judge? No, the law still stands. Do you see this truth with regards to being under grace, not under law? Paul refutes absolutely any notion that believers can abandon Gods commandments based on the false belief that because we have been saved by grace, through faith , we no longer need the law. Well, if being under grace does not give us license to sin, then it means that we must NOT sin, and therefore KEEP the ten commandments, the divine law of God. Do you see that? We are either allowed to carry on sinning under grace, or we are not. And Paul confirms that we are NOT allowed to carry on in sin under grace. Law and grace do not work in competition with each other but in perfect cooperation. The law points out sin, and grace saves from sin. The law is the will of God, and grace is the power to do the will of God. We do not obey the law in order to be saved but because we are saved. A beautiful text which combines the two in their true relationship is Revelation 14:12. "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the Commandments of God, and the Faith of Jesus." What a perfect description of grace through faith and Gods eternal law! And the combination is found in those who are the "saints."

+BloodOfYeshuaMessiah You wrote: "there is no mention that the Commandment law has been abolished as a result of grace. The verse simply says Christians are not under the law but under grace, meaning we do not come under the penalty of the law anymore - which is death," I say: There are plenty of verses saying the Commandment Law is done and changed (Hebrews 7:12,18-19; 8:13-9:4). And the meaning of being "under the Law" doesn't mean "death penalty" but being in submission to it and adhering to it; Paul always wrote this way: Galatians 4:21-31 "Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free." And as far as breaking the Law under the New Covenant... we are under the Law of Christ (1Corninthians 9:20-21; Galatians 6:2) Which is Faith/believing in Christ (John 3:16) and Love (John 13:34), which John and Paul both sum up: 1John 3:23 "And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment." Galatians 5:6 "For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love." Yes, sin is transgression of the Law (1 John 3:4) BUT the Law has changed (Hebrews 7:12) therefore now that the Law is Faith and Love to do anything without these two is sin: Romans 14:23 "for whatsoever is not of faith is sin." We as christians should know the difference between the Law of Christ (Faith & Love) which we are now under, and the Old Law is for the unrighteous: 1 Timothy 1:3-9 "As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in FAITH: so do. 5 Now the END OF THE COMMANDMENT is charity (LOVE) out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of FAITH unfeigned: From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers," To go back under the Old Law is APOSTASY: Galatians 5:4 "Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace." Galatians 3:1-3 "O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of FAITH? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Hi, I have been a Sunday worshiping Christian for over 53 years. Then I happened upon the You tube teachings called Sunburned , Part 1, part 2, and lost sheep by 119 ministries. It revolutionized my thinking and showed me many of the traditions of Christianity are manmade and manmade to replace God's appointed times and commands. I personally believe that God calls us to still observe Sabbath, though if you also meet on a Sunday with other believers. I now believe God's appointed day is Sabbath...the day he asks to keep it holy. Sunday was named that as it was dedicated to Sun god worship.

So could you show us where in the KJV Bible Jesus or the apostles reinforce the keeping of the 1st day Sunday? How many types of laws were given to Moses? Who Wrote the 10 Commandments and how many times were they Written and on what were they Written? Who wrote the Mosaic laws and on what were they written? So could you tell us, where in the Bible does it say that the ONE commandment cancels out the TEN commandments? What does fulfil mean in Romans 13:8? Let's take a look at the 10 Commandments, do you believe we should keep any of them or should we be free to murder, steal, lie, commit adultery, covet, worship idols etc? - What does it mean to take up your cross daily?

Zach Johnson I have another understanding of the term "preterist" as that "Christian eschatological view that interprets some (Partial Preterism) or all (Full Preterism) prophecies of the Bible as events which have already happened. This school of thought interprets the Book of Daniel as referring to events that happened in the 2nd century BC, while seeing the prophecies of Revelation as events that happened in the first century AD. Preterism holds that Ancient Israel finds its continuation or fulfillment in the Christian church at the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70" Wikipedia But they don't teach that Christ returned in 70 AD as far as I know. ??????????

flexx The endpoint of the Scriptures is Christ, that is correct. You said "Its either you follow Christ or you uphold the law. You cannot have it both ways." That is wrong. This is what Christ has to say about the people who disregard God's law like you 'But I will reply, 'I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God's laws. ' Mat 7:23 NLT And Paul in Romans 3:31 to people like you who separate the tie that binds Faith and Law. "Well then, if we emphasize faith (IN CHRIST), does this mean that we can forget about the law? Of course not! In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law." Grace does not make the Law irrelevant. The Law is intertwined with Grace. "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning (break the law) so that grace may increase?" Rom 6:1 NIV "What then? Shall we sin (break the law) because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!" Rom 6:15

mike Loving ... Hi, thanks for sharing. However, I read that passage and I don't see where God instructed Adam to rest. _And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made_ ... I see God resting that day. The only time in the bible God instructs man to rest is when he brought the children of Israel out of Egypt ... I'm not trying to debate you I'm just looking for answers.

see: Galatians - The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,”[i] meaning one person, who is Christ. 17 What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise. 18 For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise.

@@doxx2427 ______________________________________ Genesis 2:2-4 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. 4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, _________________________________________ God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it..... According to merriam-webster.com sanctified means "to set apart to a sacred purpose or to religious use : consecrate." So God had set apart the Sabbath from the first ever week and that was to be an example to Adam and to all mankind. Why would God sanctify/set apart a day for sacred use if He did not intend for it to be used that way. Humans were created in God's image which means that man would mirror God's character, work and rest was important to God. Work would be a part of each day of creation and was followed by the night of rest, and after the sixth day God rested. This means that man was created to work and rest, rest each night and rest on that specific day each week. God chose that man would rest each week at the end of the week. Sunday is the first day of the week, resting before work makes no sense, that would be lazy. So people should work then rest, work six days and rest on the seventh The Sabbath was meant to give people rest and a time to come before God and also gather with family. __________________________________ Genesis 1:5 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. Genesis 1:8 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. How would you feel if your children should choose to do something wrong that is contrary to your character even after knowing what is correct because they should have had you as an example.? God set the example for all mankind. _____________________________ Genesis 2:2-3 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. ____________________________

“Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind. They have lost connection with the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow. Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: “Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”? These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.” Colossians 2:16-23

维睿安 Collosians 2 14 has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the Sabbath day of the 4th Commandment. The Sabbaths that were Shadows were the seven festivals and holy days that prefigured Christ. They are told about in Leviticus 23 in great detail. I know this because I am a Jewish Christian Before I was converted, we used to observe these seven Sabbath's that fell on any day of the week. They weren't necessarily on Saturday Most people only study the New Testament and so they don't understand the New Testament because much of it is explain by the Old Testament and vice-versa the Old Testament explains much about the New Testament.

Almost everything about the Sabbath is in the Old Testament. Although the Old Testament has great teachings and can be used as a guidepost to God's love I know that the Old Testament law was created for the nation of Israel and not to Christians. So my first question is; is the Old Testament "rights and wrongs" different then the Old Testament law? If not then none of the Old Testament rules we need to follow right? Christians are under the law of Christ which is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul. Exodus, Ezekiel, Mark, Acts, Hosea all talk about how you should keep the Sabbath but they are all in the Old Testament so we aren't obligated to obey, right? I couldn't find anything in the New Testament that says to keep the Sabbath Day Holy. please respond with any thoughts!

For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the Torah, until all things are accomplished. Whoever, therefore, shall break one of these least commandments, and teach others to do so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whoever shall do and teach them shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. Test that thought....check out 119 ministries sunburned part 1& 2 and lost sheep...and their teachings on the Sabbath here on you tube....eye opening and it changes everything. I am finding that many church doctrine do not hold water when they are tested with the whole of scripture. Jesus and his disciple's all followed the law, and the feasts and festivals. It was Constantine that changed everything....Daniel 7:25...."He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws. The holy people will be delivered into his hands for a time, times and half a time." Is it true that God did away with the need to follow the commands, or is that directive manmade, inspired by the enemy to keep us from the many blessings that could be ours if we followed them.

You couldn't find anything in the New Testament that say keep the Sabbath day holy? Okay, let me help you out: [4] For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. [5] And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. [6] Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: [9] There remaineth therefore a rest [Sabbath] to the people of God. (Hebrews 4:4-6,9). Also consider Isaiah 66:22,23 which although an old testament prophecy, is speaking of a still future new testament event, After God recreates this world and sin (law-breaking) has been destroyed forever. [22] For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. [23] And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord. (Isaiah 66:22,23).

+Levi Walton You are correct. We are now under Grace, but no longer the Law. Under the New Covenant we are to follow the Law of Christ (1 Corinthians 9:20-21) the Law of Faith (Romans 3:27-28) and the Law of the Spirit, but no longer the Old Covenant Law (Romans 8:2, 2 Corinthians 3:6-17). Christ told us to bear Fruit (Matthew 7:19) which can only be done through Him (John 15:5) and the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). We are now dead and delivered from the Law to bear Fruit unto God by the newness of the Spirit, but no longer by the letter of the Law (Romans 7:4-7). Galatians 5:22-23 "But the FRUIT of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is NO LAW."

Levi Walton funny that you say that. Jesus, on the road to Emmaus in Luke 24 says... and starting with Moses and all the prophets He showed them all the Scriptures about Him... and He is Christ, from which the name Christians comes from for if we are so called as followers of Christ, how then can you separate the two testaments when it is them both that speak of Him?
