Listening to Pandora at work helps uncover songs where you think one artist wrote it, but turns out it was a cover of an older song. Pandora pays for one song and makes sure you hear every version of it 😂

Mr. Music! (I know, I know) ❤ This can go on and on as a mini series of sorts. Except you missed a big one in this set. A double back and back. (What to call these?) You got “Superstar” Luther -> Carpenters but forgot -> Groupie (Superstar) Delaney & Bonnie, 1969. You have to end at the source IMHO. Luther did cover Richard’s modification of the song. But one word does not a new song make. Carpenters did a lot of covers but maybe the most relevant one was their first #1; Close to You 1970 -> Richard Chamberlain (Dr. Kildare) 1963. I’m jumping over a couple of album cuts in the middle. Chamberlain’s was a single. Here’s a stumper idea for a future episode: Somos Novios by Armando Manzanero 1968, translated by Sid Wayne and sung by Perry Como, It’s Impossible 1970 (why would I know this?) … It’s Impossible; Tori Holub w/Dan Wesley 2024. 😉 I love this concept! I got a few & need to write on Part 1. Joe Edit: My comment was erased by KZitem in part 1. Sigh.

New Edition's version is a remake. I've heard the original, but I can't recall the guy's name. He was a solo artist I just looked it up and his name is Junior Tucker
