You should do a vintage restoration fishing challenge. Go back to the flea market, buy that Garcia Mitchell 300 (50s-70s technology), open it up and get it running like new and fish with it. Wanna hear that clickety clack.

The daiwa reel has a finger trigger bailing system, similar to the early ugly stick gx2 combos. If you try to flip the bail over manually they tend to stick, but if used properly they seem to work fine. Try it out and see how it goes...

Andy Montanez I had a Shimano reel around 2010 with the same system. Must've been the last reel ever made with a finger trigger lol I honestly loved it.

Great vid Mike, was really hoping to see in THIS video if that odd reel worked with new batteries or not. And I dig the value challenges over the new gear challenges, much more interesting to see what you find...anybody can catch a fish with a $20 budget new gear at (fill in the blank store). Consider trying a gas station/minimart challenge where you have to get everything BUT your rod and reel there.

My most used setup was a flea market 5" ugly stick with a daiwa autocaster, spent 15$ on it and used it for 8 years and thousands of uses before the little daiwa was no longer usable
