Hello! I would like to ask you a question: Do you know of any resources that would help a semi-literate Hispanic to learn Biblical Hebrew? She is of the generation that never learned English well and really needs something that is coming from a non-Castillian Spanish perspective. Any tips you might give would be appreciated!

Hi, I’m Israeli and the 5th word doesn’t mean “nice to meat you”. It just means “very nice”. If you want to say “nice to meat you” it’s “Naim lehakir otha” ״נעים להכיר אותך״ :or inHebrew And one more thing. Hebrew is a language that the words for males and females are different. for example if you want to say the word “I love” in Hebrew it will go like this: for a male: “ani ohev” For a female: ״ani ohevet” so you should have say that this sentence are for female only.

Actually you can also write that word as two separated words, בן-אדם or בת-אדם (depending on your sex), in fact it's very common to see it written that way. Btw she should've use the word בת-אדם or בתאדם, for she was talking about a female and not a male. It's just like in English, you wouldn't say "she is a good "son of Adam"" but "She is a good "daughter of Adam"" (if you use "son/daughter of Adam" as the word for human, that is).

Are you Jewish or not? Just asking because it's rare to see non Jewish people take interest in Hebrew!
@sophyp1625
2 жыл бұрын
@@cookiecook6784 no, I'm not Jewish. Nonetheless I'm deeply passionate about Jewish culture and history. I have great admiration for the resilience of Jewish community. And finally I love Israel and the middle East in general. Since I was adolescent, it was one of my dreams to learn Hebrew so at the age of 27 I decided it was the best time to start.
Shana tova sister, I'm learning German now y I was thinking it would lead me to Yiddish, y then to Hebrew. You came across the screen y it is a holiday blessing to me. In Hebrew do we read left to right, how does it go. I read in the basic romance languages that carry Latin script such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, now German, y I took Latin years ago y I'd need some refreshening. Recently I ran into Dutch, Danish, y Icelandic. I can say basic pleasantries in 19 languages. I asked God for the gift of languages y he never deserts his people. I understand that us Jews navigate toward languages because we've bounced around so much. I want to thank you for this lesson. Shalom sister.
