The gerudo guards changing outfits with Link is most likely the game pulling the color of both from the same bit of code. It is interesting that nobody noticed it or cared enough to change it, even in subsequent revisions, but it's likely it was one of those bugs that "fixing" would have caused more unintended consequences than it was worth
@Cloud_Strife0811

I believe it's a nod to the original LoZ on nes. When you get the blue ring, certain enemies and items, like the ropes on the raft, would change colors to match Link because the game didn't have the capability to display many colors at once so that was the result. Same with the red ring.

So the Keaton mask is likely not based on Pikachu at all. I have found nothing to confirm this from the developers. Rather, it's based on a kitsune. Kitsune are fox spirits in Japanese mythology who possess cunning and wisdom. They're also known as tricksters. This is reinforced in Majora's Mask, because you find the actual spirit the mask was made to resemble. Another reference for the mask is hidden in plain sight in Majora's Mask. The Keaton mask may be part of a reference to the Star Fox franchise (which has ties to the 3D games as an Arwing can be found in the code for Ocarina of Time). The Keaton mask represents Fox The Bremen mask represents Falco The Bunny Hood represents Peppy Don Gero's mask represents Slippy And lastly, the Mask of Scents represents Pigma.

The Twilight Princess palace extra key is something I found on my first playthrough. You only need one key in the palace, to get inside. However, there are two keys outside. Once you get the first the player would usually burst in and climb only to learn there's a locked door next to the final boss door. The map reveals lots of chests behind it, but unless you went to the bottom again and knew the OTHER side also had a small key you'd likely not know how to get in.

I like the "unorthodox item usage pays off" angle programmed into several boss battles. The Forest Water is a prime example, following the Bug-Catching Net deflecting Agahnim's spells (LttP) and bottles deflecting Ganondorf's spells (OoT). There's also the bit in OoT's Spirit Temple where a statue of a Gerudo can be targeted with the Hookshot only on her nipples. And similarly to the guards' clothes in OoT, Zelda's dress in the first game changed color with Link's tunic (clearly saving memory by mapping them to the same palette).

If anyone remembers the Nintendo Badge Arcade on 3DS, the host bunny was also named Baito for the same reason. And the Japanese word "Arubaito" is a loanword from German, which I believe is "Arbeit". This is a neat trick to avoid a few problems while saving resources and having colour options. When you change tunics you're actually changing the "environment" not the asset. I'm afraid you are mistaken, the Keaton Mask is NOT a refrence to pikachu, the Keaton are three tailed foxes whos characteristics are derived from the mythological Japanese fox creatures known as kitsune. Keaton are NOT pikachu.

I knew about Spectacle Rock’s Piece of Heart. It’s actually on online walkthroughs that it’s talked about. I also know about Igos Du Ikana’s minions being able to march with the Bremen Mask from Chuggaaconroy’s Let’s Play of Majora’s Mask. So you are going to have to find new secrets that took players years to find instead of well known secrets.

People complain about the linearity of skyward sword, but still praise twilight princess which is the most linear modern Zelda game. SMH.

Here's a fun fact; every business in Hateno Village in BotW/TotK has the same name, but in different languages/writing systems. The general store is East Wind, English for East Wind. The clothing store is Ventest; Vent Est being French for East Wind. The inn is The Great Ton Pu Inn; that's トンプー亭. Or in Kanji, 東風亭 - East Wind Inn. And then finally Kochi Dye Shop - to give it its full name, 元祖 東風東風屋 - "The Original East Wind Store" - to give you no doubt which business started the naming tradition!

The one with Kalle Deimos and the Forest Water is actually the result of a translation error. In the OG game it's sacred/holy/pure water, something like that. Makes it very obvious if you pour it on a corrupt boss like kalle Deimos that they'll die. Changing it to forest water made it very obtuse.

I remember it being pretty obvious that the first set of dungeons in Zelda's second quest spelled out ZELDA. It's hard not to notice back in the day when you're staring at the map trying to find pass-through walls and bombable walls.

I'm tired of the rumor about not finding out that you could kill Kalademos with Sacred Water in WW. Me and my cousin found it within a year, and we find other others who also knew WAY before it was "found." But with how young the Internet was then, we all just figured it was either common knowledge/not cared about with how hated WW was at the time.

Oot is one of my favorite games of ALL time not just in the series and I had NO CLUE about the Gerudo clothing color change. I probably was so used to wearing the tunic I used in the previous dungeon to notice.

アルバイト (arubaito) is actually a transliterated German loanword, Arbeit, which means “work.” For some reason, the Japanese chose to use it to refer to part-time work.

Someone should try to find all the secret areas in Croc 1. They are usually indicated by sparkles somewhere in the level, sometimes on hidden platforms or hard to reach/odd places. Then there's the ones that are not activated by touching sparkles, but by doing a very specific action. In 'Fight Night with Flibby', there is a rock with a flower on it that you can stomp on, destroying it, and teleporting you to the secret area of the level. One weird one I found by accident is in 'Lights, Camel, Action!', which requires you to stomp on a jelly three times, which teleports you to the secret. One question that haunts me is: Does EVERY level in Croc 1 have a secret area? Some are easy to find, others seem arbitrary. Someone should dig into the game's code and look for event triggers in each level to see how many convoluted secrets there are.
