I thought you would enjoy a hockey break. I missed a few nicknames. Pavel Raspberry Bure Bobby HoleLick just to name a few

At one point in 1991, I worked at a card shop, and we couldn't keep the French versions of these cards in stock. Prices went thru the roof for a bit to around $15/ pack. I sold Bure and Federov rookies (pack fresh) for $150 - $175 each. Crazy times.

Good 'ol junk wax, or junk foil or whatever material upper deck packs were made with. 😁👍

So as you can see it’s not mass production. It’s that the hobby has shrunk by a lot so demand went down by more than one order of magnitude.

My box didn't have a Fedorov or Neidermayer either. I did, however, get a Jagr. Great looking set even though it was mass produced.

fun stuff, hockey cards breaking out this year is what made me turn to hockey and forget about watching all other sports...just started watching baseball again 5 years ago or so after not paying any attention since, well, 1990. Remember the craze with the french cards or did you start a few years later? When I was a kid the French high number box of this was $25 PER PACK. I bought a box last year for $5 just to feel awesome ripping all those packs I know are really worth $25 each. Got everyone but Jagr
