Led Zeppelin is the name of the whole band, which consists of 4 GOATS of each of their crafts, together The GODS Of MUSIC!!! Robert Plant lead singer & harmonica * Jimmy Page lead guitar band founder producer & mixer * John Paul Jones (JPJ) bass guitar keyboards mandolin etc. * John (Bonzo) Bonham greatest drummer ever. These 4 had their first rehearsal on August 19,1968, did a 6 gig tour in Scandinavia, came back & recorded this album in 4 days & about 30 hrs. Got signed to Atlantic Records on November 11,1968, without the record company seeing them perform live. This album was released on January 12,1969, their 2nd album was released in October 1969. The play Rock Blues Funk Folk Reggae Prog etc. their music is still loved by millions over 50 years later. FYI: the songs aren’t all connected, each stands on its own, & every song is amazing. They put their hearts & soulful passion into their music. NO auto tune or voice enhancing, it’s pure raw talent. I highly recommend you checkout each of their albums, the first 4 are easy one two three four. Their live performances are really amazing, check some of them out. The band was together from 1968 to 1980 when their drummer passed away. To bad your choosing to not listen again, you’ll miss out on the greatest band ever.

I was 10 in '69. Didn't really listen to Zep until I was 14 or so. This was an anthem for us blasting on our car 8-tracks in our teens; a mainstay of high school parking lots, keg parties, 420 by the river, living rooms, bedrooms. We were naughty back then.

LZ were the gods of late 60's and 70's rock. To understand how they changed music, listen to what music was there before them. This was the golden age of rock. An era of GUITAR ROCK. built on guitars, drums and talent. Something we don't have in music today.

Sit back, fire up a spleef, and dig on LZII, "The Brown Bomber" as it is affectionately known. This album is primarily blues-based rock. Rock and roll is basically the blues that have been sped up, fuzzed up, and turned up. As they progressed thru the years, so many different influences make their presence known. Can't go wrong with the Zep!

I was 5 in 1969, so I wasn't ridin' the wave at that young age, but my older siblings listened to this all the time, and by the time I was 10 or so, I was listening to Zeppelin on my own accord. If you're going to do all their albums, do them in order so you can experience how their music evolved over the years. Rock and roll forever, man!

🎊 Now that you’ve “experienced” the studio recording from 1969…TREAT YOURSELF to some live performances from Madison Square Garden in about 1973. You’ll be surprised what having a few years under-their-belt does when these guys GO OFF on their solos‼️ Also, a must see video of “How Many More Times,” recorded in black & white, in Denmark…will blow your doors off…my suggestion is to watch this one first; before the colored videos from the 70’s on.

16 in '69. Saw Zeppelin in Salt Lake City. They were the opening act for Vanilla Fudge - a damned good band, No one knew LZ before that concert, but by the end we sure did. They played for over 4 hours. It was fantastic. The next day I went out and bought this album. I consider it their best and in my top 3 of all time! I have subscribed Sandman! I think you definitely are overthinking this. Many of the songs are from old blues songs by various artist that have been dressed up as only LZ can do it. There is no actual theme to the album. Just enjoy the music for what it is. As to a style, Zeppelin comes in many, many styles or vibes. They are considered one of the founding bands of what became metal. Before them there was no music like this. They set music free. Six months after the release of this album, they were the biggest band oin the world. Outdoing the Beatles and Stones and Elvis(look them up since you likely won't know who they are) and all others. They remaind there until Bonham died in 1980 and then they disbanded because he could not be replaced.
