For me, it's the $20 tent, so I don't have to pack all that other stuff around...on the other hand, I'm a Big Spender so I just might spring for the $90 Bass Pro Shop 6-person family dome tent...sacrificing the '60-second setup time' for an actual rain fly...😁

I'd go for the $20 one - easy quick setup and you can easily carry it into where ever you go. The $3000 "tent" + $2000 power station to pump it up makes for a very heavy and expensive camping experience. I'd rather spend the time relaxing than setting camp up.

The $3000 is clearly for camping near your vehicle rather than trekking. More of a glamping tent with a harder setup but I can see it being nice for a longer stay with cold & rainy weather. Would be nice opening the skylight and seeing the rain come down while enjoying a book. For the other tent it's really not bad for a $20 tent. Probably only use in good weather tho unless you patch it up and reinforce it.

That $20 tent was only missing 2 things: a rainfly and a roll of Red Green's famous "duck tape". And after what Chester did, he should get his doggy bed out in the $20 tent. It's a perfect portable dog house, which he was clearly "in" after his subterfuge.

Honestly, I'd take the smaller tent. I'm seriously old school so a smaller, less showy tent would make me feel more like real camping than the playhouse type tent. After witnessing the tent fire when I was six, there's no way I'd ever cook inside anyway. I'd definitely not buy a $20 tent except for an emergency so I'd spend more but it wouldn't look like no kids playhouse, that's for sure. Basic only...about $120 should be good enough. All I'd need is my sleeping bag and a bag of supplies and I'd be good to go as we spent all of our time outside the tent anyways...not in it.

Do they both have same recommended number of occupants? Otherwise it's not a proper comparison. It's like comparing a 1 bedroom studio apartment with a 12 bedroom mansion, not really same thing. The $20 tent is suitable for carrying on hikes while the $3000 one is only suitable for camping or caravan holiday with a large car to carry it.

I just bought a $20 tent…not that $20 tent but still $20. I think the big difference is my $20 tent used to be a $70 tent that was bought at a markdown store. It popped up and it was set up. I found it to be too hot, i'm in Florida and it was more like a sauna than someplace to sleep. I actual bought it to stare at the stars in the summer yet be safe from the mosquitos. My rainfly roof once removed had a screen roof but its just to hot for this summer where night temps are in the low 90°f and and breezeless while the humidity is high. But it would do fine if the weather was cooler, breezier, or less humid.

When I was almost 6 years old till I was 9 years old. My family had a pop up camper. To me it was fun. A couple times there was a good thunderstorm. I woke up from a loud cracked of lightning those 2 times. Once when I was 6 and again at 8 years old. Us 4 put it up as a team. I do missed camping in it. My father sold it to a friend’s daughter and her family for $500.00. I hope she and her family had fun in camping in it. My father put it up for my sister to sleep in it during the summer. I even spent a night in it a couple summers. My parents had our friends with family members to used for a week. Even a couple of my parents friends spent a week in it. My father did setup it for them just after putting on a site near our vacation home.

Personally, I wouldn't take either tent I'm not sure how old my tent is. It's supposed to be able to sleep 3 or 4. My daughter and I used to camp in it when she was a kid, she's 32 now. We'd have a bed on either side, could have maybe had one more in the middle. Now it's just me and my dog. For the past several years, the only camping I've done has been a weekend trail ride from a base camp, or setting up the tent in the field with the horses. The tent is only used for sleeping.
