I agree with Ricardo's comment about having the name of the reel on the table so the viewer can follow better. On reels, for some time I've had a Shimano Stradic 3000 FI that has served me well. Only issue is it gets sand in the bail wire pivots and then it gets "grindy" until I take it apart and don't lose any of the miniscule parts, LOL.

Good stuff here. I picked up one of those Stradic FLs last spring after seeing one of your videos and its the smoothest spinning reel right out of the box from any manufacturer I have ever used and still is after a season of use in freshwater. My only complaint is the weight, due to the fact I have been mostly using the CI4+ and Fuego LTs for a while now. I just added a Stradic 2500 HG FL to my fishing arsenal...Got several older Stradic FI reels that have held up well inshore kayak fishing in the Southern Maryland area of the Chesapeake Bay. 95% of my fishing is light spinning 1/8- 3/8 Oz lures and most fish I target are specked trout, white perch, striped bass, redfish and spanish mackerel. Reels have 10-12# braid...use 20# Trielene XT mono for leaders tied on with FG knot. For quick disconnects I use the Fastach clip by Mustad.

We used a Shimano Soccoro 5000 SW which I found on sale on sale for just $67 bucks. It was in the surf for a year and it held up to striped bass up to 21 lbs, halibut to 14 lbs, A 27 lb white sea-bass, a 38 lb black sea-bass and a large number of snags on a reef we fish from shore. . The drag is no velvet smooth, the bail closes on casting from time to time, plus it has a few other deals but for $67 bucks hard to complain about the price. The full 139.00 asking price, then we might have a problem.. It was not a complete piece of crap, it caught some big fish and it still works with signs of some wear. We Upgraded to Penn Slammer III 5500's at 189.99 and these even had the upgraded heavier bail system vs the first generation of Penn slammer III and at no additional cost . 18 hard fished surf months later the two Penn Slammer III slammers bought have been everything promised . Only thing with Penn is that the reels are stiff the first week due to the grease packed but once worked in over 2 trips the reels stiffness disappears. I fish for big surf species and these reels have got soaked / fully emerged by waves with no problems. there obviously a much different need that that of a angler who needs light weight for many repetitive casts where every ounce saves your arm and shoulder grieve. but for Drag power, a 5500 having 40 lbs worth, Dependability and easy maintenance wise the Penn Slammer III has done very well.

I seriously went all out on the Abu Garcia spinning reels- the Premier and even the MGX reel. After just two years- I hated them. The bail was flipping while casting, the reverse was kicking in while I was fighting a fish, and even worse- the rigidity was falling apart. It did not last- the quality was not there. Been looking a bit at the liveliner Spinfisher as an option for fishing the kelp on day trips on the west coast. Mostly this would mean calico bass and fish similar sized. But, on these trips you can also run into yellowtails and bonito and the like. I'm split here on what size of reel would work better for this application- the 4500 or 6500. I'd be using it on a roughly 20-30 pound class rod. This would be my first Penn, used to mainly Shimano sizing- in the past a 4000 size Shimano worked fine for the calicos, was a little undergunned on small yellowtail.

Honestly, though I've tried and liked the Stradic, that extra 15% weight kills my wrist (since my arm was previously injured). My opinion is that the Tatula LT is the best under $200. First, it's actually one that i could buy for under $200 and with tax, which is actually is a $200 budget, not $200+. Second, it's lightweight. Though I had the ganglion cyst removed, my arm isn't able to hold up as it used to. Third and lastly, man I like that 6:2:1 gear ratio. I fished my wife's older Shimano Sahara 2500 and I fell in love with that specific retrieve ratio. Just my two cents. Would really appreciate it to see what you think of my situation.

Sorry for being so honest 😁 okuma azores 55s, abu garcia elit max 60, tsunami shield 5000, which to buy and why, or which fishing reel besides these previous reels do you recommend ?, hello I'm from Mexico, I have a wife, two children, I'm paying for a house , in my work I earn 10,000 pesos a month, it's like 500 dollars in the United States, please help me decide which fishing reel to buy because I practice shore fishing and I want a fishing reel that can hold me for at least two years or more, because buying a reel greater than 150 dollars is very difficult for me to buy, that is why it is difficult for me to decide which of those fishing reels to buy, please save me, thank you for your time and your help, I hope you can help me because I love , shore fishing, and I don't want to be just a spectator for not being able to buy the right fishing reel

If I was in a similar situation, I would save money until I could afford a reel that is truly sealed against sand and water. Then, for your investment it may last the rest of your life, and maybe well into your children's lives. Quality does matter as long as you are paying for quality and not just bragging rights.

Dude your amazing! Those abu garcias are junk because of the anti reverse! other than that they are good but that alone makes them worthless. I owned 4 and 3 outta 4 failed! setting hooks on fish! I was so curious to hear your opinion on them and now I found it! I've been basing my purchases off of your reviews.

Would a 4000 black bay be good enough for surf fishing and for occasional halibut, rays, and leopard sharks? Or would it be better to get a 5000 Stradic fl with increased drag and line capacity? The Ballistic sounds really nice too but I care more about a metal frame and the smoothness than it being light.

If you had to choose a reel for fluking or inshore fishing in the surf or jetty would you choose the Back bay, Stradic or ballistic? That would really help me out if you can help me choose! 😂 great video!
@ShinkiZer0

1. Stradic FL 2. Ballistic LT 3. Backbay Wud have been Ballistic at top due to weight alone, line capacity and drag but it somehow flexes. Stradic is like jack of all trades master of none, not to heavy, buttery smooth, cast a mile but spool is kinda small for size and needs to be maintain more if that bothers you.

Ballistic all day, the torque in it is good enough to stop almost anything....... its not as smooth as a Daiwa Exist but its good enough to catch them all.

@@ismailaziz9785 absolutely I agree! I always wanted to invest in a twin power. I do a lot of bottom fishing and favor my spinning gear. Maybe I'll see if I can pick up the older model for cheaper! I'd like to give it a try. The new clash 2s look really nice as well. The clash was a good reel for the money as well but I'd class it in the BG class.... and the BG cant be beat for the money!

but what size?TORQUE is good for topwater!!(advantage over makaira20k is that it weighs less). But only fast retrieve and $750...not so soft others, saltiga&stella. I would go for half price slammer or already a CATALINA (if I need for jigging and 80lb braid I go with spheros 20k)....some people don't want MAGSEALED!, before twin power would go to stella 2nd hand.

Great video, I enjoyed it. Your video is the main reason I bought a certate 19 Lt. I was contemplating whether to buy the stradic FL , vanquish 19 ( which would be nice to see that battle the certate 19 LT 4000 or the. 5000)., or wait for the new Ci4+. I might wait for the Ci4+ and buy a vanquish lol. Also I might go and buy the spin fisher long cast for my dad instead of giving him my certate 19 LT 4000 since he’s a big penn guy.

Feeling nothing when spinning the handle or feeling a bit of mechanism meshing when under load has nothing to do with general durability or bullet proofness if hooking a monster. We need to know what performs year after year with routine maintenance and tons of use.

It's funny people pray for lighter reel, when you out for fishing your getting stronger, but these days fish are harder to get, I remember decades ago I used saltiga 6000 for bottom fishing, I'll never have any thought of getting 1000 size reel, now I got 2 of them
