It took me 2 years to figure out the misfire culprit on my 02 ZR2 blazer , so pop the distributor cap and lightly coat the progs under the cap with dielectric grease, these distributors are notorious for misfiring and it’s simply moisture, dielectric grease will totally eliminate the misfiring.

I had a similar problem with chevy S10 , 4.3 l. Same engine configuration as your blazer. I replaced many of the same parts as you did, but kept having the same problem with runaway throttle and engine surge. I eventually noticed that the temp gage was dancing wildly when the surging started. Shook some wires in the engine compartment and, sure enough, the coolant temp sending unit connector was broken and shorting out, causing the engine control module to get false signals. Replaced the temp sending unit and it runs great now. Sounds like you may be having a similar problem with your oil sending unit.

Update..... I fixed the problem 1. Pulled the crankshaft after watching vids about it here on KZitem. Saw wearcit was touching a rubbing on the end of the sensor so I added a shim. Service Engine soon light is gone. No misfire at all. Tachometer steady. Horsepower and torque that I never had in it since I bought it. Even peeled out without flooring it. Total different truck power wise. 2. Oil pressure reading zero was a bad oil leak. Changed the oil 3 months ago and its reading zero oil on the stick. Changed one hose and filled it with 5w 30 synthetic oil 5 quarts. Oil pressure shot up to normal. Power wise it drives like new now. Next Ill replace the shocks and the steering box. My kids gonna get another car so then and only then will I fix it up cosmetically. Lol. 20 inch wheels and tires, projector headlights and a paint job.

Awesome my brother ! I think you meant to say crankshaft Sensor .. I out a new one in ( but didn't out the shim in ) which when I get it out if the shop ( bad rear axle ) I'll out in a shim & possably video it .. all my gauges are doing the EXACT same thing .So yours are working correctly now ? Is that after you changed oil ? I'm gonna try cleaning the oil pressure sensor ( I've heard they get dirty ) would live to out in a mechanical oil pressure gauge but not sure where I would find a spot to hook it up ? Subbed your channel . Thanks for the video !! !! Godbless and Godspeed !! !!

im kind of having the same issues at the moment, i was out at a friends and noticed my check gauges light came on and noticed my oil gauge had dropped to 0. when i got it home because i left right after, within a minute and a half there was a HUGE oil puddle underneath my blazer, this happened while i was looking for a piece of cardboard to stick under there to see if it was even dropping any oil, is was almost pouring out of there. after about 10mins it had stopped. the next morning i checked the actual oil and see how much was on there, still had quite a bit of oil and its holding it. i havent touched it or ran it since this happened and i cant figure out whats going on, any ideas?!

Sold it months back. As soon as I bought it though, I put all new plugs and wires. New cap and rotor. It still misfires until I added a shim to the crankshaft position sensor. That thing burned rubber after that.

I'm having similar issues with my 2004 Chevy S10 vr5 the oil pressure gauge is just above zero but when I hit the gas it actually goes up a little bit but other than that it just sits at zero I had the oil sending unit replaced and nothing has changed changed the oil change the filter no difference can't figure out what the problem is

@@adamharper4203 nope. Made that comment a year ago and I'm still driving it so I'm hoping it's just a sensor or something in the dashboard. Ok the cylinders misfiring had this problem for a while check spark plug wires then check oxygen sensors also I thought that the oxygen sensors wouldn't be the problem but it was and you haven't to change your oil pressure gauge

Nah. The cluster did everything the engine was doing. You could feel this misfire. Problem fixed with a shim to the crankshaft positioned sensor and added Lucas oil additive stop leak along with an oil change.
