I love any auto repair video that basically dumbs it down for me very slowly and shows great video of what is exactly going on. Thank you.

You're very welcome. As far as the throttle, you should be able to just disconnect the large hose between air intake and the throttle (there should be something similar to a hose clamp you will have to loosen) and clean the throttle in place with a throttle body cleaner or a carburetor cleaner. You can soak it first and then use a tooth brush or something similar to brush off the build up. At the end you can fire up the engine and spray the same cleaner into the throttle body in short bursts.

You're the man! Thank you. Yesterday I cleaned the fuel filter and clean the MAF sensor. I have some questions: do you have to clean the throtle body and how do you do that?

Good question. The engine will shut off within seconds regardless of how much fuel there is in the fuel tank because once you pull out the fuel pump fuse, the pump stops pumping fuel and the engine uses up whatever fuel is left in the fuel system downstream from the fuel pump (not including the fuel tank). So you can go ahead and proceed without worrying how much fuel is in the tank.

So once you take that fuse out, depending on how much fuel is in the car, will determine how long it will take for the engine to shut off correct? Basically there should not be any fuel in the tank at all? I'm asking because i need to replace mine but there is about 1/4 of fuel in the tank as we speak.......

Sir! After you removed the fuse do I have to leave the key on or do I have to remove the key on the ignition ? thanks!
@northwestern2002

I don't think I removed the key but to be safer you can remove it and disconnect the negative battery cable as well. Either way, it would not affect the vehicle's ability to start once the fuse is reinstalled.

hey what if my car doesnt start? can i still remove the fuse and it work the same way?

If your car doesn't start, there is no point in removing the fuse. I would go ahead and proceed, there shouldn't be much pressure in the system, just protect your eyes and be careful and catch all of the spilled gasoline. Make sure there are no fires or any hot items nearby (flashlights, etc.).

You probably should have opened the garage door first...wondering if you were going to pull the fuse before you passed out from CO poisoning...it was like watching McGyver...
