I'm so happy I got to witness this. I was around 13 - 15 years old at the time. I had moved to Sacramento from LA and had a friendly rivalry with other basketball fans at my Junior High. I don't think I ever screamed as loud and happily as I did watching Horry make that shot. It was gigantic. The dagger in that rivalry.

Saw it live in a bar full of Serbian basketball fanatics who all rooted for the Kings because of Stojakovic. I was the only one wearing a Lakers t-shirt. When Horry received the ball up top I stood up and raised my arms. I just knew.

Horry's Buzzer Shot is probably the Best in NBA Playoffs History. Without Horry's shot, the Lakers were down 1-3 with 2 games on the road, and an elimination... Horry's shot was the Shot of the Title.

They played as a team and not as individuals; the offense wasn't run through one player for the whole game. also, Bobby Jackson, Christie, and Peja were constantly moving around on offense, trying to get open, or Mike Bibby was running Pick and rolls or driving and kicking, and Webber and Vlade were passing out of the high post.

Despite the editing of this, the Lakers won and came back in that 2nd half with defense. After getting torched in the first half, they held that great Kings offense to just 34 points in the second half. Needed every single solitary stop too.

@@TheSands83 Lol no were not doing this. Game 6? fine. but game 4 and game 7, the Kings BLEW IT. plain and simple. The refs didn't make the kings blow a 24 point 1st half lead. The refs didn't officiate the Lakers into battling back, hitting timely shots and making timely stops when the game would have gotten away from them if they didn't. Nah the Lakers showed championship HEART and character getting back into THIS game, just like they showed heart and character going down to Sacramento and beating the kings fair and square on THERE home court to advance to the finals.

9:01 the same play they drew in game 2 of the 2004 Finals, though Kobe went for the 3 instead of driving to the hoop. Both times, Adelman and Larry Brown thought about fouling Shaq when he touched the ball.

The 2002 Kings roster was a perfect fit for what Adelman wanted to do offensively. I don't know if there's ever been a more perfectly constructed lineup. Now, if they just could've hit their free throws... there would have been no Lakers three-peat.

The Kings were legit. They were more of a threat than the 2000 Blazers because THAT Lakers team was just learning how to win. This team came for the throne and damn near got it. No, it wasn't rigged...they just didn't make the plays they needed to in Game 7. But they gave us a run for our money. Horry FTW...literally.

2003 was even a better shot for Rick Adelman and the Greatest Show on Court era Sacramento Kings with a better and deeper team led by Gerald Wallace. Keon Clark, and Jim Jackson, but disaster struck when Chris Webber tore his lateral meniscus in his knee in the Game 2 of their Round 2 series against the Dallas Mavericks and the Kings downfall began from there.
