Thank you I greatly appreciate you making this video! I have a 2005 Pontiac vibe and I didn’t think anyone cared about this car anymore lol but it’s my main form of transportation and I needed to fix it and this really helps!

Thank for checking out our auto repair video that shows you how replace the front brake pads and rotors on a Pontiac Vibe. Here is a link to the brake pad and rotor kits on Amazon: amzn.to/3ICcIj2

Good job. Most of the videos I've seen don't mention lubing the caliber pins, and also good advice on the upper bracket mounting bolt which tends to interfere with the strut as you're removing it.

You wouldn't have any problems putting the pads back in if you unclipped the hardware and filed down the rust underneath. Having to beat the old pads out is a sign of rust jacking on the bracket. The slide pin pushing back isn't good either. It should be very neutral in its movement. Air gets trapped in the slide and bleeding it out by pushing in and opening the boot usually takes care of it. Great video though!

Damn good job, you mentioned several things that I had forgotten, grease on the slides, and calipers also.... at 80 years young, I lost some memory cells. One thing you did, that I don't agree with, you did not change your gloves so that NO GREASE touches the pads..... you put greasy gloves on the pads..... and did not wash the pads after that, I always wash the pads to be sure no grease is on them... every thing else is great though.

Typically we will take some very fine sand paper and scuff off any paw prints that we may have gotten on the brake pads.
