In 2016 I bought a black 2006 model in the UK after my Cherokee XJ broke down and it was deemed terminal. I had to get back to France so I bought the Outlander. Ten mins after my garage called to say they'd fixed the Cherokee.....for £25 ! 😂 But I still have both cars in France now. I use the Outlander every day and it looks and runs like new ! It's cost me nothing other than two sets of tyres, two brake calipers and annual servicing.

These are great. The 4G69/4G64 engine and A/C were a bit weak for it imo but otherwise is reliable and practical. The A/C takes a while to cool down the cabin but does work regardless. Better off getting the 4G63T version (Outlander Turbo/Airtrek Turbo-R) if you want some performance in this car.

@@JDMHaze yeah even here in middle east they didn't sell those. I only knew about those versions because of Gran Turismo 4. They sold those turbo versions in Asia mostly.

They are just okay, the outlander could never really match the power or reliability of the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, or Honda Element. The only good thing about the Outlander was the price; they were cheaper than the leading competitors.

My dad Leased it back in the day never bought it. I never understood why he didn't just buy the car or just keep the Galant he had prior. He had the XLS with the Heated Leather Seats. After the Lease was Done he and my mom Leased a 07 Odyssey EX-L then bought a 2010 Outlander.

My very first brand new vehicle purchase on by myself was a left over 03 XLS AWD in Pacific Blue-with the sun & sound package. Originally went in looking to snag a Lancer Evo (ins premium killed that deal). With only 58k miles-it’s survived 2 divorces 3 kids and still runs like the day I bought it. They were absolutely solid & actually sold pretty well. Mitsubishi really hung themselves with the whole no payments for 12 months crap. Ended up repoing a TON of them-taking huge losses. I did end up with my 06 & 10 Evo’s after both divorces & 15 Final Edition after wrapping up Chemo/Radiation/Surgery on Stage 4 Cancer.

They aren’t a “true 4x4”. Full time All Wheel Drive. First brand new vehicle I bought on my own, left over 03 in Feb 04. Still love it as much as the day I drove it off the showroom floor💯
