Great video mate been following your 6 part series and I'm almost done :) what did you use to clean the timing chain cover? and block?

Thank you for your comment on the series of diy videos. I used decrease to clean the timing cover and block. It’s the purple power decreases that is concentrated. I used a spray bottle and filled it up with degreasers and a nylon brush. I hope this helps

Kind of curious how that thing runs why wouldn't you replace the variable valve timing sprocket on that

I was actually wondering the same thing, I'm about to do this job on my Mazda, found the 2L kit doesn't come with it but the 2.3L does... I haven't had any luck in finding a 2L kit with it, is it something that can be cleaned and reused? The kit comes with two sprockets but not the variable attached to it... Separately it's more than the whole kit. I don't wanna half fast the job and considering just buying it separately 🤷
