I bought 1 that’s completely stock and great condition. Paid about $80. Lovely bike, surprisingly light. Will sell to a friend for $100. Could get more if I sold on marketplace

That is awesome, these are excellent buy it for life type road bikes! I actually sold this one for $500 which is defintely on the higher side but if it's nice and tuned-up, they bring $350 all day! Thanks for the comment and please take a moment to subscribe, thanks for the support!

I bought one new, same black/yellow paint, in large. It was my first road bike. Bike was used, abused, stripped and stuck in a cellar for years. The frame, fork, stem, and handlebar was what I had left. Two years ago I rebuilt it with mostly original parts, from ebay. Sora parts easy to find . Found the original Viper ocr with yellow strip seat/saddle. Put on the extra brake handles which originally came with. Thought about carbon fork but did not want to lose the black/yellow strip paint job. Original frame has over 100,000 miles and still going strong.

This is great to hear Rich, please take a moment to subscribe if you haven't already! That's awesome you rebuilt to stock! It really is a super solid build stock and I agree on the carbon fork. Not really worth taking off the nice paint job unless you went full carbon fork and lost a lb or more. Also I totally forgot I took off those center brake handles haha!

Bought mine new in 1999 and still ride it. The only upgrade is the rear derailleur which I upgraded from the Mirage to Veloce.

I have a Giant OCR3 that has served me well for many years. Bike handles very well and is comfortable. Shimano Flight Deck setup on the bike still works very well as well after all these years. Great bike for the money…. Interesting coincidence I am putting the larger tires on the bike as we speak. Looking forward to improving my ride even more and you are correct that not too many road bike frames of that era where you could do use the larger tires.

Thanks for the comment and please take a moment to subscribe! Heck yeah man, slap some 28c or 30c tires on there and see what I'm talking about, you will love it! These OCR frames are awesome though, I am always buying up a budget Giant whenever I can for that reason haha! I actually have a similar project frame right now but it's a blue ocr3 that will be an "abandoned restoration" coming up here soon, so keep an eye out! Thing is ROUGH lol but it'll look as good as this OCR1 did after some work! Sadly a BUNCH of my high end road bikes wont fit basic Continental GP 700x28c tires, it was a weird time in the early 2000's lol. Everyone though the skinnier tire the better because of the rolling resistance and high PSI but then a study came out that shows you don't see any difference until 28c. The kicker was the difference shows between 25c and 28c but it was hardly a noticeable amount of drag versus the notable amount of comfort riders were saying. This is what made a me a huge convert lol!

I have a 2001 OCR 3. I upgraded the old headset to an FSA Number 11, installed a carbon fork, and a Redshift ShockStop suspension stem. It certainly improved the ride, as the original setup gave a bit too much road feedback for my liking. As soon as the current 25 tires wear out I'm going to try to see if the frame can accommodate 28s. The reason I went budget is because my Roubaix was stolen and I don't have the money to lay out for a replacement. I decided just to buy a cheap old bike and upgrade parts here and there when I'm able to.

Hi Mark, please take a moment to subscribe if you haven't already! Thanks for your comment, it definitely will fit 28c tires, I have them on this one....the exact tires are in the description. It will make a HUGE difference! Someone in my OCR1 video said he fit 700 x 30c tires so maybe you can find something even bigger if you really wanted! Sorry to hear about your Roubaix man that is a huge bummer, they are really awesome bikes! I had the woman's model the Ruby last year and it was an amazing frame, wish I had time to make a video on it actually. Keep an eye out for a budget wheelset around 1500 grams but still has a decent spoke count (IE: 20/24 spoke front/rear) that would be your next best bang for the buck update!

@@D2WrenchWorksDIY Hello again. I did a few more upgrades since this last post. I upgraded the group set to the R7000, the wheelset to the Shimano RS100 with Continental GP 5000 28"s. I intend to get a better wheelset later, maybe something like the Campagnolo Zonda C17. I'm also going to try out TPU inner tubes.

Hi Mark! Nice additions you have made the R7000 is a huge improvement I am sure! The RS100 is a little on the heavy side for sure, just be careful of any split-spoke type wheels that save weight by skipping spokes as those have a habit of not lasting as long. Great work though, congrats!

I have an OCR 3 in a blue colorway. It rides very well, I use it to commute to work each day in Seattle. Main problem is it rains a lot here and I want to get a fender or something for the back wheel. Other than that it's a great ride. Love this thing. I've had it since I was sixteen when my dad bought it from an old bike cop for $200.

I also had a blue one, great colorway, but mine was an OCR1...you can checkout it here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/uXd8zoGgo5t6Y6A these really are awesome frames and if you put on wide tires (700x28c or 700x30c) it's like riding a cloud haha. Went from a Lemond Buenos Aires (steel is real) to a ocr3. The ocr3 shifting is way easier in the Minnesota winter with gloves on. On the Lemond the shimano 105 I was constantly accidentally shifting the wrong way

Thanks for the comment and please take a moment to subscribe! I appreciate the support! I got alot of love for the LeMond steel frames, I've had a bunch myself but I have to agree! I used to commute in harsh winters on a Sora groupset and I was in awe at how well it stayed together through the abuse, still hit every shift perfect! The thumb shifters are awesome too, I have a small collection of these shifters now as they're excellent for vintage rebuilds!

Hi Chuck, I actually just replaced the from derailleur on my OCR3 (spring tab broke, like they all do) and a "FD-R2030 Claris 8-speed front derailleur" is what I used. It's commonly available and works with no problems.

Hi Badr, thanks for the question and please take a moment to subscribe! Usually the ocr2 will have same wheels and frameset with different shifters and derailleurs. Minimal difference really, the Ocr1 came with ultegra (9spd) so I imagine the Ocr2 comes with Shimano 105 (9spd). $200 is a good deal if it's in good shape, I wouldn't sell mine that cheap lol.
