I have a 2003 Suburban 2500 with the 6,0. I have the exact same cluster as you, with the transmission temperature gage. Nice ride btw.

Thanks! Nice! Wish I had the 6.0 but the black bear tune really woke up the 5.3. Magnaflow muffler and afe intake helped a bit too but there’s no replacement for displacement! Well, maybe a turbo or supercharger lol. LS engines especially the ones without AFM are super reliable though.

That’s fairly low mileage for an 03. They are great SUV’s!

Denali's were standard AWD and 6.0L but you could opt out. Ive seen rwd variants as well as 5.3L's. Same thing with the escalade. Ive never seen the 4.8 in a denali or escalade, but i dont think its farfetched that some could have been built with them

I've only seen 5.3 Denali's in newer trucks like 2014+.

I’m pretty ignorant about the subject, but I’ve heard that the tcases on these are junk, and this is coming from a master tech & a GM enthusiast I know. Is this true, or are they failure-prone due to lack of proper maintenance at regular intervals? Would really like to get one of these but I’m afraid of tcase issues.

Google GM transfer case pump rub. It’s a well publicized issue but remember GM cranked out Millions of these SUVs and trucks. People come to the internet to complain. Yes it can be an issue but it’s not a guaranteed problem in every one. I have an 03 suburban with 177k on it. No issues with transfer case or front / rear differential. GM used a few different transfer cases and they take different fluid depending on which case you have. The AWD Yukon takes normal Dex/merc ATF. My suburban has a selectable 2hi, 4hi, 4lo and auto mode transfer case. You must use the blue GM fluid for autotrac transfer case. If you’re thinking of buying any used vehicle take it to a trusted mechanic and have them go over the vehicle. If the seller won’t allow this or wants you to use their mechanic that’s a red flag and walk away.

@@doctube2020 thanks for the detailed response, I appreciate it. I had a navy blue ‘01 Silverado 1500 z71 with the 4-button tcase with auto, 2-hi, 4-hi & 4-lo and never had an issue other than the 4l60e starting to slip when moving from a stop towards the end of my ownership of it (had about 180,000). Anyway, I drove it from the twin cities of MN to Wichita, KS, back again & half way back again 6 months later, and a few times in Kansas before selling it, and for a (then) 17+ y/o truck it did pretty darn good, other than an alternator that happened to wait to go out until during my road trip, as well as typical rust (which was actually pretty clean for MN standards). Anyway, long story short, I love these trucks & would love the Denali for light-medium-duty towing. Quadrasteer Sierra/Yukon Denali/Silverado/Suburban would be amazing!

Why did u take traction control off?
@doctube2020

Turning TC off is commonly done when doing 0-60 or you want the most power available. If TC detects wheel slip it will pull power from the ECM / PCM while it try’s to regain traction. Even though this is AWD if stabilitrack detect wheel slip it pulls power to keep the vehicle as stable as possible.
