Winter Test Drive with a 2004 Mercedes-Benz SLK 200 Kompressor (R171). The Engine puts out 163 PS (161 HP) and 240 NM and is mated to a 6-speed Manual Gearbox.
Especially at lower speeds, the SLK feels torque and responsive.
All in all, the Mercedes-Benz SLK 200 Kompressor is a well capable daily driver and and fun car to drive on the Weekends. If you’re opting to buy a SLK, stick to the manual version for the 200 Kompressor. The Automatic Gearbox tends to feel sluggish and undecided when driving. From 2008, the SLK 200 also a facelift and a small power increase, resulting in 184 PS (181 HP) and 240 NM.
The handling of the car is rather on the sporty side while not compromising the comfort of it. Only critique with comfort is the wind noise becoming very present at higher speeds on the motorway (be sure to subscribe to not miss the SLK being driven on the German Autobahn with (NO SPEEDLIMIT).
