This was a tremendous help. Followed completely at the JYD on a donor. I just needed the plastic dash top which i removed by taking out a number of 5.5 mm bolts. Then laid fiberglass cloth on the back side to strengthen as these are very brittle. Pulled my old one off in chunks and took off all of those 5.5's. A few times in and out for adjustments, then placed some dabs of a high temp flex adhesive in some places and slid that sucker on. There are more steps than outlined here for sure. I went this way after pulling the entire dash out of two donors only to have the top crack trying to walk it out of the JYD. I also coated all of the plastic parts and the donor dash with LVP Ford 119 which has some UV protection as well as a flat black color. Will the new dash rattle. We will find that out once i get the dyna mat in

That's an interesting issue you got going on, I would check underneath the front windshield crawl. Make sure you have proper drainage there. Also the main electrical harness that goes thru the firewall, check the grommet.
@hugosanchez4593

Hey so I had an issue like this where only the passenger side floor was having water come in after a heavy rain storm. I ended up pointing one of the causes to some worn out insulation strips that stick right under the plastic boards under the windshield. Also right below those, there's also a drain for water to go out of. If it gets clogged up, the cabin air filter is right above it, so if you have that drain clogged up it could potentially drain in through the filter. But, once I replaced the insulation of the passenger side windshield boards (I don't know what they're actually called), after a heavy rainstorm I don't have any water appearing in my passenger seat floors. There is one good youtube video that details what they specifically did to fix their issue as well, and it only takes max 20-30 mins to fix.

So, I was wondering if anyone has this situation where after getting their AC actuator replaced they still get a clicking noise whenever the car comes on and the ac doesn't blow out any air unless you play around with the AC airflow controls. I was told that one of the problems is a lever that is attached to the actuator that may need replacing. I was wondering if anyone has ever replaced their actuators and had to also replace the lever that goes along with it or if they have seen the actuator and the lever and what is all connected to it? I think it could be the lever, but it I'm not sure if there could be other underlying issues (electrical work or any other cause). Thanks!

It's usually the actuator, the clicking is coming from the actuator. The gears Inside are plastic, I haven't seen any arms fall. But they can be re lubed to make them smoother.

@nicklldoit

If you do it by the books you need to pull the entire air box out of the car. Two nuts on the fire wall and air conditioning lines on the engine side. Or you can take the short cut and remove all screws on top of the air box by the blend door. Now, you will have to cut or crack the corner of the air box facing the driver seat. Plus cutting the plastic supports for the heater core inlet and outlet pipes, one right at the firewall and the other inside the air box by the gas pedal area. You can be a little rough with the heater pipes as they are aluminum and can bend some. The idea is to slide the heater core out thru the driver side. I cracked my air box on purpose in the right area as to not destroy the hinge for the blend door. Plastics cracks go back together easier with epoxy or aluminum hvac tape. If you decide to remove the air box, you will have to evac the refrigerate and refill. If you are able to view the thumb nail for this video, you can see where I resealed mine. I hope this helps you out.

@nicklldoit
11 ай бұрын
The speedometer is a quick fix on these cars, no need to pull the dash. You can just replace it if that is the issue, always check all fuses before doing so. As for your AC there could be multiple issues. First and foremost Freon is needed, make sure the system has the correct amount. Also make sure you have zero leaks. If all those things are correct then we look at the Compressor, is it turning on. Pressures need to be tested as well when the system is running.
