Awesome detailed video. I detail cars 🚗 and I just bought a 2005 Mazda 3. Thus this looked lived in by the homeless. I thought I'd have to replace the carpet . However after taking the seats out I needed your video to DEEP clean under the console. Tks because the one I bought was worse than the one you had In the video. Tks so much.

Thanks fella. I'd poked around all over the place and couldn't find how to get to the shifter mechanism. Thank you you and thank you KZitem.

Great tutorial! I just found this video. Really wish I had before I tried this in a dark parking garage lol. Anyway, my stick won't move out of park. (It's been slowly getting worse... now it's really not going anywhere. Oh and not heat related. Happens in cold weather too) 'Moves side to side but that is it. My break lights work so I guess the fuse is fine? As you know there is no shift override slot. So that is why I took the cup and shift plates off to rig the 'shifter interlock solenoid' with a zip tie like I saw on another video for newer Mazda 6s. All that hard work removing the plates and breaking a few pieces of plastic near the ashtray >.< and learned my shifter was TOTALLY different. Then I found a fair video on changing out the lever select...something about a small coil at the front of it... but no one sells them! Do you have any videos on this issue? Or any advise? This car is teaching me lots but I'm far from being even a mechanic's assistant lol. I'm trying to save money and just hoping to get this old car to last 1-2 more years. Please help, and thank you!

Thanks, bud--you saved my life! Dropped my bank card inside the housing containing the emergency brake lever. Needed it to pay for repairs on another vehicle...

Very good and versatile specific on details plus everything was crystal clear to see exactly what to mess with and wich screws to remove Thabk you definitely recommend this video if you really don't know what to do only issue not a big deal is that you should've give people the size of bulb wfter going through all that ill recommend replacing it as well but besides that 5 stars with me

perfect. just removed mine (‘04 Wagon Canada) to fix switch for manual operation of Sport AT Automatic transmission. Oddly the main console shell was missing one screw in the exact same location as yours!

Hello, thanks for this video. I've the problem, that i can't switch clean. Starting is only possible from "N" position (normaly "P") and some times "R" does'nt work correctly. Is here under the Console an Microswitch for the automatic gear? Thanks for any hints.

Hello, My 2003 Mazda six has a different gear lever button. I unscrewed the two screws, but I can't take them away. This button has a button that can be pressed on the left.
