I love the old J-bodies. They were just good, no-nonsense basic transportation. I used to own a 2005 Sunfire that I purchased new and was lucky enough to find one with a 5-speed manual which made it quite a fun little car.

They made these 3rd gens for a long time! My stepdaughter had a 96 which was still this same body style! My mother in law has it now. And it does have the common broken dash peice. I like the 2nd gens better but these are the perfect beater.

GM never should have gotten rid of the Cavalier. The Cobalt is NOT another Cavalier, they're built on different frames, and are far different even if they share an engine (engines can be swapped between multiple cars to begin with).

Not a caviler fan either but for $1400 if you need wheels than not bad that's only 85000+miles not bad at all plus without the extra bells and whistles to act up later like you said that check engine light is probably a fast and cheap fix keep up the good videos Greetings from East Texas

For those who are going to ask, because I know they will, that's 84,000 miles. Which is impressive for the timing chain on one of these 2.2 Ecotec engines...

I’ve seen a lot of l61 ecotecs go for over 200,000 miles on the original timing set. You just gotta watch the tensioner and the upper chain guide. If you take care of the engine, it’ll take care of you.
