It really is very easy to do, the only trick is patience and build up the layers of paint slowly. Don’t go for the finish look on the first coat, light layers dry better and will last longer 😊

You definitely take excellent care of your VStrom. Always in top shape. I was wondering what front stand you're using. I've looked at a few and 3rd gen DL650's are hard to get around the front cowling without removing everything. The bottom of the fork legs are uneven and the one I have is dangerous. Sold my base '17 DL and bought a new 650 Adventure. They have swingarm pivot stands, but I didn't want to spend a lot of $. Anyways, you have a great machine there.

Thank you, very kind comment. the front stand is a cheap 'Tech7' from eBay, nothing special I'm afraid. I only use the front stand during the winter to keep the tyre getting a flat spot as it's a pain to fit, stable but not easy. The one downside to the DL (and many similar bikes) is the amount of plastic that has to be removed to access for maintenance. I use the winter to strip the bike down, clean electrical connectors, clean the air and fuel filter etc. so I can hopefully have trouble free riding over the summer months. I don't mind oil changes as they are quick and easy, only need to remove the bash plate, but anything in or around the fuel tank I try to keep to winter work. 🙂
