This is great to hear. For your info as well I still have the “red bug” still puffing away strong and running smooth now with 180K plus on dash. Definitely things that can go bad on this car are very few over the years. I am about to do another tranny fluid since it has been about 30k I guess since last time. Ya some how others have complaint on the sound but I don’t hear it being loud on my end. Thank you for shearing your feedback. Means a lot.

Which threalocker did you use for the trans bolts. Toyota recommends toyota genuine adhesive 1324, three bond 1324 or something equivalent? I'm thinking loctite 248 stick or loctite 243 liquid would be appropriate. What do you think?

They should make the tip of the dipstick magnetic so you could clean off any shavings whenever you check it.

Will it be safe to take my scion to AAMCO transmission to have my Oil change I wish you could do it for me lol But how much will it cost to have this done at a shop

Hi Ruth. AAMCO well it is up to the consumer. They are a chain for service and i would take my car there in extreme case if I need my transmission rebuild or so. But if you have the scion xa you can take it to a trustworthy mechanic and they will change the transmission oil and filter for a better rate in my opinion. Would not mind to help if you were not to far from Boston MA😁🙏🏻👍🏻good luck Ruth. My 2005 XA has now 175k and going strong. Daily driven.

I have a 2006 Scion xB (my wife has a 2005 xB). Each have around 162,000 miles now. We bought them new, but have never changed transmission fluid or filter. Should I do it now, or will the transmission start to slip, as some people say? Some say to drain it, change filter, but reuse the old fluid? Idk. Did you have any problems after changing it? Thanks.

This is just my opinion BUT. I just called a friend of mine mechanic. He said that even though you have close to 170k just draining it an changing filter is of no harm. Some do what is called a transmission flush. That i do not recommend because that would also remove some of the minor particles that kind off help friction. Just by draining and filling you dont move those around which is desired with a older transmission. My scion xa is running strong even having changed transmission fluid after 158k miles or so

@@deutche10 awesome. Thanks. Yeah, I wasn't planning on doing a flush, so...Thanks again.

He didn't say, but I suspect this is an automatic transmission, and manual Scions would have a different procedure.

Defenetely good point. Good you pointed that that out. I forgot go directly say that it was automatic. Thanks man.
