I am so happy I can find these videos on here. My dad sent me your video for the temp fix (mine was opposite of your video, it was stuck on defrost and I live in SoCal so that's not cool, literally lol). I'm going to buy the part I need and do it myself. Im a single mom and have never worked on a car but this looks too simple! Thank you for posting these videos!

@@channelron3593 I watched the video again with my 13 year old son and he did it with my supervision. Do you have any videos on AC compressors for these cars? Mine constantly clicks on and off and I'm hoping to not have to replace it.

In mine one of the cables broke off. I had some identical 0.6mm steel cable laying around and I replaces the broken cable. Then I used some cotton to make the sticky climate control doors not sticky and now it works fine for $0.00 :D

Let it heat up before you try and turn it,if stuck, and leave it in the straight up position when you shut it down that way the sticky stuff won’t be in contact with any surfaces to glue it shut and it will still function as intended as a diverter for the air control system.

nice. this is a problem i've been dealing with for a year now. I just took it to my mechanic. they ordered this part and i should have this taken care of very soon. It has been a nightmare not knowing what the hell was wrong and not knowing why it was stuck and i had to force it so much. I've been stuck on the floor vents. Couldn't get heat to the defrosters at all which made driving in the winter during snowy nights and days NOT FUN!

If this happens, then replace the cable to force the system to defrost. Eventually the cable will break again. The evaporator case is seized up and requires taking apart the dash. This video is a band aid solution.

Hello! My Ford does not have that problem, instead its the knob that controlls the heat inside the car that is broke, is it the same procedure , with the replacement with the wires running down to the left , (sligltly above the gas behind the panel ) id assume? or do i have to replace the 3 knob unit and what is that called?

Thank you for this video, but i don't understand how to even pull the knob off the front. I can't get it apart. I dont know hi8s you got the clips off, i tried to do it just like you did but they crumbled and broke totally destroyed them. This is the problem I have, it looks like your solution should work, but it wont even cooperate with the first part, plus i stripped sll the screws with screwdriver, by hand. Thanks for the upload, I will keep looking.

Well I fixed that a year ago, THANKS for your video!! Now having another problem with a different Knob (on the left) for adjusting hot and cold temp. Today I tried turning that knob, and it won't turn at all and I don't want to force it. It is in the Colder position, now I need it in the warm position cause it's colder out now. Tried turning it as I mentioned but afraid it will break! It worked last winter! Should I take it off the dash like you did here, maybe it just needs some WD or Oil behind the knob? Your thoughts or anyone, PLEASE??

I have Ford Fusion 2004 and have a heating issue. Simply, somethimes heated air goes into the cabin, somethimes not. Position on manual control is on the right side (max heating). What could be a problem in this case? Is there some thermostat for cabin heating? Thanks

Not that I am aware of, this was a problem with a lot of the cable systems in the fords, as far as I know there is no thermostat in the cabin, But do not take my word for it, sorry could not help.
