This is a detailed DIY starter rebuild video that will provide information on how replace the plunger set, brush set & clean the starter components from start to finish as well as test the armature core for faults.
Vehicle & model: 4 cylinder, 2006 Honda Accord EX sedan.
Second video of a three part series of removal, partial restoration and reinstall of the starter unit.
This rebuild, cleaning & repair process may be similar to other models and years of the Honda Accord.
Tools:
Socket wrench. 5/16 socket
Socket extension.
Rubber gloves.
Multimeter
500 or 220 fine grit sandpaper.
Razor blade or knife.
Brake and caliper grease.
A type of cold weld epoxy. (If needed for fail safe method, had to blur in video)
Engine degreaser.
Cleaning rag.
Air can (If needed)
Bench vise (If needed, it helps)
