I had a 2013 r1 and it had a major dead spot at 4500rpm. Had it dynoed at 159h.p. After it was tuned it made 163h.p. But what i was impressed by was not the h.p gain, it was like you said. The driveability.

I have a 2007 Zx 10 and it’s hard to believe that with that amazing motor you were only able to gain 4 miserable horse power , I am wondering if removing the other exhaust pipe was a mistake, the bike is smooth as it is, we all ride a bike for the crazy raw power, if I want a smoother ride I’ll just drive my car, I’ll be flashing my 07 this upcoming spring here in Cali and I plan in doing whatever it takes to squeeze every drop out of it hopefully I’ll get a lot more horses than that.

before I send my ECU, should I let the bike read the new exhaust? I havnt installed it yet, but it is the same as this one, I am going from a dual to a single two brothers slip on. Should I ride it a couple times before sending ECU, or does that matter?

zx10power the first and second gen stock exhaust cam (have 292 duration 8.5 mm lift) and is the race exhaust cam for the 3rd gen (stock 3rd gen exhaust cam have 280 duration 8.5 mm lift) but the 4th gen exhaust cam have 293 duration 9.1mm lift and it’s drop in on previous gens (I have one installed on my second gen). The 4th gen intake cam is different so can’t be installed on previous gens without modding the cylinder head so it can swing, change valves, valve springs, retainers and buckets, the first and second gen intake cam have 300 duration 9.1 lift the third gen have 292 duration and 9.7 lift the difference in lift it’s whats makes the 3rd gen intake cam the best for all 3 gens and the best combo is the 3rd gen intake cam and the 4th gen exhaust cam for all 3 gens 👍🏼

I have a 07 zx10 with yoshi slip ons a cat delete pip k & m air filter and a power commander I never had it tuned if I wanted Chris to do it do I just send the power commander? My bike is the stock blue I like the hot pink...

Naw not liken the pink at all....My gen 2 with a k&n and full beet(2 can)ti ex and a pc3 made pretty much the same thing....Im sure with a flash we coulda squeezed a wee bit more but but that was before bikes got flashed as commonly as they do now..Couldnt pull off any restrictions either with a pc3..

I have the 06 with a full beet exhaust as well man. Also running bmc air filter, pc3 programmer, an -1 front sprocket with 520 conversion. I'm wondering what Chris's ecu flash will do for my bike power wise ?

@@travisbanks009 i had mine back in 06/07 ..So with a beet and bmc and a dyno tuned flash specifically to your bike most likely smooth out the ratios,remove restriction and make feel like a freight train..Wish flashing was as common then as it is now...As good as cm is with his stuff i would consider a woolich raceing kit..Do all your own flashing..Lotsa info on their site,youtube and on the dyi tune thread of zx-10r.net I bought the kit for my gen 3 with a full beet/bmc also the -1 +2 and after i let the woolich software do its thing plus some minor stuff i changed,som bitch pulled like a bull dozer..www.woolichracing.com/products/kawasaki/zx10r/2006/2006-kawasaki-zx10r-ecu-flashing.aspx#productTable

@@craig_sez8534 I'll definitely look into that man, I've honestly thought about trading to an 09 model.. are they that much more powerful than the gen 2? Wet weight of the gen 2 is 445 lbs an the 09 is 459 lbs, that's 14 lbs difference there I dont see how there any faster unless more engine modifications were done.. I hear they handle an brake much better though. My bike already pulled like a train b4 I done the 520 -1 conversion, I havent been able to ride it since, but I'm anxious as hell to see how much difference in power it makes, I just wanna squeeze all I can out of it basically lol.

@Moore Mafia - How the hell would you know how to properly flash the ECU if you do not have the bike there to dyno? You would be guessing at best. You don't know what air filter, what exhaust, what fuel, what mods....

Thats why you lets MM or any other tuner know what mods you have. But having the bike there and getting an A/F reading is 100% the best option no doubt.

@Tyson Cott - it is possible he could make it WORSE without having the bike there because he has no actual reference for the AF baseline. How would he know how to correct it if he doesn't even know what it is before the flash? Someone could have some custom exhaust that MM has never encountered before then he would be guessing. For example, on my 2006 Kawasaki ZX-14, I got rid of the dual stock exhaust canisters, plugged up one side, and used a high flow off brand single slip on canister on the right side (the rear brake lever side). How the hell would MM know how to tune that Franken-setup? I wouldn't pay $210 for a guess. How about just leave the ECU as is and change a front sprocket? That is probably the best $50 or so (installed) you can spend on your bike (assuming the chain and rear sprocket are fairly new) or do it yourself if you have the tools and know how.

All tunes that we mail out are based on the bike that we have on the dyno. On the newer bikes (2017-2020) they are very accurate. On the older bikes like this one on the video there are a lot of variables which can sway things. It's gonna be an improvement over stock but a dyno tune would be needed to achieve max performance.

Gaining horsepower is only part of it. Just like putting a bike on a dyno is only part of it. People like you talk about stuff you know nothing about. Flashing an ECU isnt just about hp numbers.

I got 165 WHP on my '06 10R (Pearl Solar Yellow) with A&R race baffles on the stock pipes when I had it flashed. Man, it felt like a different bike. It just had more beef in every RPM range and responded quicker to throttle input. It just pulled so hard in every gear from down low. Peak power doesn't matter as much as under the curve power. Like Moore says, flashing is the best mod for the money. It doesn't matter what intake, exhaust or sprockets you install when the base factory response of the engine hasn't been changed. You end up spending more money on parts for lesser horsepower and feel versus just getting the ECU flashed by someone reputable and knowledgeable. God bless!

I have a tuned k8 GSXR1000 that makes 173hp 81tq. I raced 2017 CBR 1k, 2018 Zx10R 194hp, 17 GSXR1000, 06 zx10r..V4, 2014 S1000RR, H2 and many others and beat them all, the only bike that crushed me was a 2017 195hp S1000RR... HE was geared very low. The new bikes I can win from 50.mph until 150mph or so. Tomorrow I'm racing a 2015 Ducati 1299. tomorrow. I hope I can beat him at least until 150mph.

Hey Chris, did you find that this GEN 2 was too restricted in the ECU as far as ECU flash goes? I have a GEN 3 zx10r I want to take to you for flash and would think my bike would be similar to this as far as restrictions goes. I think the heavy restrictions started on GEN 4 zx10r. Thanks!

Gen4 for sure when the heavy restrictions started.. previous gens can squeeze a little with timing and rpm limit but nothing like the gen4 and up

Nice "glazed" tire. Why don't you try sitting on the bike so it has the proper weight on it and the contact patch is increased? Also, why don't you shift the gears properly instead of just "whacking" it up and down the gears?

Had a '06 with Akrapovic exhaust and PC3 in green though. Loved that bike. It ran damn good. Next to my s1k it was probably my next favorite bike I've owned. Bang for the buck it's hard not to go wrong with just about any gen zx10r from 1st to 4th.

It is MAGENTA. Halfway between RED & BLUE. Magenta is a color in between red & purple or pink & purple. In terms of the HSV (RGB) = Newton's experiments with prisms. color wheel, it is the color halfway between Red & purple & is composed equally of 50% red and 50% blue. Violet and red are two components of magenta, are at opposite ends of the visible spectrum thus have very different wavelengths. The additive secondary colour magenta is made by combining violet & red light at equal intensity. Magent, Magenta is not in Sir Isaac Newton's, LIFE 1642 AD -1726 AD, visible spectrum.

WOW a ZX-10 2006 that does 166 HP is a lot better than what I seen from the Honda CBR-1000R 2016 that only did 153 HP , hell yeah form Kawasaki 10 years older and still pull harder than a Honda 10 years younger. Long live the 👑

id love for you to do an 05 636, if i was in the states and still had mine id bring it to ya. i went to locant carquest with an attached auto shop an asked the guy if he could bend me an undertail straight pipe.... guy mustve been excited cause he only charged me $8 for the pipe and labor lol.. but id love to see you dino with the paper clip mod( a comon thing i was seeing was the ecu from europe was less restricted so you either buy one of those , a power comander at the time, or put a paper clip inbetween two of the pins on the ecu to get about 4 to 5hp) to see if its real, and just to see what a flash can do to that bike. Its by far my favorite bike i ever owned. And theres a ton for sale here where i am now for great prices so i might have to get another soon

Wow! that ZX 10r Gen II made more than zx 10r Gen I on MR12 after flash! and more than two gsxr's 07-08. All the test were performed on the same MM dyno. There must be some mystery in gen II zx 10r

Not really sure how much the flash would help on these bikes, that tune prob did all the power. I also had a huge lean spot right at 4k, but I have both my mufflers, so it seems like it's in the factory tune that goes bad once the exhaust is opened up. To anyone who reads the comments that has a bike, it is 100% worth the money to tune your bike! It's not about the power, it's about how much more smooth the response and power delivery is.

Ill pass on the chrome n oink..The bike responds well to a front brake calipar/mc update(gen 3 zx10,zx14 parts are nissan upgrades and direct bolt up)...Is your fan in front of the bike for cooling or to allow for ram air effects with the a/f ratios to?

This is the kind of bike that looks it’s best at night. And no, not because it’s harder to see. Lol. That dark rich color with the chrome. 👌🏼. I generally dislike chrome but I can still appreciate unique beauties. This bike wouldn’t look bad with black wheels either.
