2009 Suburban LC9 190k miles, just dealt with random misfire. So random it wouldn't even throw P0300 unless I really lugged it up a hill. Tech2 showed Cyl 6 to be the culprit so i swapped coils and misfire followed. I believe the misfire reporting system has been numbed for the AFM vehicles so as not to report false misfires when switching modes. BTW, 193k miles, still runs strong, only used a Range AFM disabler for the last 10k miles or so. Walmart diesel oil for at least the last 10yrs.

For a 2009, you may want to review the GM service bulletin I put in the description text area of this video to make sure the factory upgraded parts (valve cover and AFM valve splash shield) were installed at some point in the Suburbans past to cut down on this oil consumption problem.

In my 2009 manual, it says the ohms should be between 397 to 1337 ohms and last set (748UU) averaged 842. Maybe the low resistance wires ate the electrode? Just replaced my CANdi cables, thanks again for making that old video!

GM will revise various specifications as time goes on, perhaps as manufacturing tolerances were improved they were able to tighten the range by the 2013 edition. Just speculation though. Most likely the oil consumption accelerated the plug electrode damage, rather than the aftermarket asian imported wires. The GM service bulletin I linked in the video description describes the AFM induced oil burning even causing the ceramic insulator to crack. Glad the old CANdi repair helped.
