Your wires are bad! So change them, then alternator ..then get a platinum battery from auto zone I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT...I SEEN THIS PROBLEM WITH THESE FROM TOWING...AND ALSO THE REAR AC BUTTON AREA TAKE IT OFF AND DISCONNECT THE BLUETOOTH HANDFREE THING...THAT'S WHY YOUR DRAINING ....IF U EVER HAVE THE CAR RUN LIKE IT WANTS TO DIE BUT DONT WANNA GO AT ALL. IT IS YOUR CATALYTIC CONVERTERS THEY MAKE IT SEEM LIKE YOUR BATTERY IS DEAD AS WELL WHEN THEY BAD...

When my battery was draining like that, it turned out to be the Bluetooth. We disconnected it and never had a problem since. Just bought a bluetooth device that clips on my visor. I have an 07 mdx

Thank you all you guys for your useful info. Just bought 08 mdx, still exploring the car tech options. Shall need to find out why and how to fix cd/dvd malfunction as well as Navi unit. It is good idea to share those mdx issues existing.

I'm pretty certain my 2007 MDX is getting drained by the stereo. Did you ever find out what in the stereo is causing the drain? I don't see the point in replacing the entire stereo with another used one.

Did you find a solution to your hands-free drain the hands-free drain is located in the back of the console for sure but the plug to it is above in the front light panel in the roof you have to pry down the outside plastic part to get to it and unplug it and your drain should go away and then if that's the problem all you have to do is replace that little piece that's up in the light area to the hands-free in the back console and that is the gremlin drain you have to unplug it in the light panel in the front in the roof

I have the same problem. Purchase with 6 miles on in Sept by Jan battery was dead. Three replacement no change. Changed a/c relay twice, no change. Disconnect the Bluetooth, no change now have a red top battery no more issues yet. There was a class action lawsuit 3 years back in California but don't know the outcome. When i open the door there still is a slight electrical arch from the radio unit. But since the red top no more dead battery. The dealership can't figure the drainage. Unless u take it to a place that does electrical work.

It's your anti theft radio code and navigation code you have to put in

Hello and thank you for your comment. But there is nothing wrong with my radio and navigation codes. As those codes are not in any way interfering with the battery drainage.

Hello Marlon. Thanks for your comment. As I found out the CD player/Navigation system is the culprit here. I have heard from other people that their entertainment center is also draining their battery because of some kind of malfunction that is causing it to drain the battery when the vehicle is turned off. I know on ebay there are some companies that can have the system repaired if you mail it to them but its pretty expensive. As for me, I just make sure to drive the car atleast every other day to keep the battery from dying. Or I just pull the radio fuse out until i need to drive somewhere. The fuse is located near the drive side pedals against the side wall. Before you pull that fuse make sure you have the radio and navigation codes written down somewhere as that causes them to restart and would need to be re-entered. Hope this helps!

Hello Oleg! I think I have the same problem in my 08 MDX. The noise I get is much louder and more dramatic (I believe that is because I have an old CD stuck in the 6-disc changer). I have sat in the car after locking it with the key, and the stereo is working every 1 - 3 minutes, making this insane grinding noise and sucking power from the battery. I have not yet disconnected my HFL as I don't think that's the issue yet. I am approaching this as a radio problem - I'd love to replace with aftermarket stereo head-unit, but that doesn't seem to be possible in the 08 MDX without a bunch of custom work. So either I think I'll have to disconnect the stereo from power completely (which is an undesirable solution), or replace/repair the CD changer unit (and maybe the entire stereo). That's really expensive, I've heard... Very frustrating situation.

I know what you mean! The have a company repair it it's about $400. So far when I park the MDX overnight I just pull out the radio fuse (I think it's the fifth fuse away from you on the bottom of the fuse box on the drivers side.) although this involves me putting in the navigation and radio code every time I plug it back in but at least it refrains from draining my battery. Let me know if you get any results and I will post a fix when I find out how. Thanks for the comment.

Great idea on pulling the fuse when necessary. I just confirmed in my manual, it is fuse slot 5 in the interior front box.

Hey Oleg, I recently picked up a 2010 MDX Tech w/ Ent Pkg and it's doing the same thing. Do you have any aftermarket components installed on yours such as Remote Starters etc? I've tried unplugging the HFL module but still having the issue. The previous owner installed a Compustar Remote starter and I think this may be causing the issue.
@TheOlegLyashenko

Hi Michael, thank you for your comment. I do not think that having any after market components installed will cause this type of issue. After dealing with it for a few months I realized the problem lies within the actual radio system. I think they just have a defect and to get it fixed it needs to be sent to some repair shop. I know that my HFL module was bad too because it wouldnt connect to the computer so I unplugged it but still having the battery drain issue. The only solution I have that doesnt involve sending it out for repairs is to pull the #5 fuse (for the radio) located at the drivers side left foot wall. It kills the the power to the radio while the MDX sits but when I get back to drive I just plug it back in and put in the radio and navi codes. Although I have not do that in over 4 months. Just making sure that I drive the car every other day to help the battery recharge. have a great day!

I bought the new 2018 MDX in February 2018. After 2 months the battery died and it was replaced with the new battery then in April and after about 8 months in January 2019 it died again and the another battery was replaced. The dealer couldn’t figure out what was wrong? I have to wait and see how long this time it will last!!!
