I like these XK & XKR models. The only thing I am skeptical about is the reliability of these and prices for parts.

@@CB12345 I had a 2013 Jaguar XKR which used a 5.0 Supercharged V8 instead of the 4.2. In the time I owned it, I put about 130,000 miles on it and the only parts I needed to replace besides regular maintenance was a water pump which was close to $1000 in total. It was a very reliable vehicle to me at least.

@@CB12345the 4.2 is toyota landcruiser level reliable. no real issues other than original waterpumps sometimes needing replacement

I like these XK & XKR models. The only thing I am skeptical about is the reliability of these and prices for parts. It would make for a great collectable in the future or even to drive now.

What I've seen on other channels via mechanics, something like an Aston Martin V12 and Jag V8s for instance uses Ford fuel injectors from a V6 Taurus. Same "part number" just without AM/Jag prices.

4.2s are quite reliable tbh

Idk if it's just me, but it sounds kinda clappy. Maybe it's from the 2 resonators or something. But it's beautiful

Its a V8 with unequal headers and no X pipe, it could be because you dont normally associate "clappy" with a Jag... so its more unsophisticated lol

That's just from the delete. Adding another resonator or muffler would get rid of the clap actually.

I actually have a neighbor who bought one used 2 years ago with over 200K on the odometer and it looks mostly brand new, like it was out of the factory. Still till this day, it definitely has been taken good care of.

not really, the 4.2 and it’s variants are extremely reliable with no real common issues, i’ve seen one on facebook marketplace with 350k. 155k is rookie

Sounded better stock. Deletes sound cheap. It needs a straight through muffler to sound appropriate to a Jaguar.

It sounds like a 392 hemi if it was over head cam, and typical jaguar, the check engine lights on, not surprise cause of mileage on it, if I was the owner I would hop on those timing chains, guides and cooling system soon.
@h7pubg

why? the 4.2 has zero common issues with chains or anything serious. maybe coolant hoses could be refreshed but these 4.2s go forever with regular maintenance
