This is easily the best America mod job I've ever seen. All the nice to haves that the America is missing (like a tach) and really sick color scheme. Well done.

I just bought a 2003 Triumph Bonneville America with only 140 miles on it. A friend inherited it from his grandfather who just passed. It sat in his grandfathers garage for 17 years, but is absolutely a brand new bike.

I know you posted this a few years ago, but I just picked up a 2008 America and love a bunch of your mods. Did you black out the chrome yourself, on the engine, forks, headlight/instrument housing, etc? Or did you buy separate?
@duncangray9339
3 жыл бұрын
Yes. I just scuffed the chrome up with sandpaper to give the paint something to stick to then sprayed them with etch primer, followed by gloss black then a few coats of clear lacquer. The engine casings & sprocket cover were chemically stripped of the chrome then I sprayed them with VHT wrinkle finish black paint. Wheel rims & hubs are powder coated black.
