Own an E90 2008 M3 6MT. It still turns heads and get comments every time I pull it out of the garage to stretch its legs. Have taken multiple adults across country trips, daily driver back in the day and I would say it is the most balanced car I have owned or driven. It is a luxury sports car. It is civil and smooth when you want it to be and it carves up roads in fashion or like a cheetah when you want. I agree, this is one of the examples of German cars when they were built right and honestly before they got to technological and drive themselves. You still drive this car, especially if you put it in M Mode to turn off all the assisting software.

It’s the truth when you push this car it feels more planted and stable. Everything tightens up. It’s very confidence inspiring. I love mine every time I go for a ride I fall in love with it again

I also owned an E92 335 for 7 years before I picked up the M3 and I think you nailed it with this review. You summarized the uniqueness of the E92 M3 pretty well and you're spot on when you say that the faster you drive, the more stable and predictable it feels. The way the car handles is truly confidence inspiring.

Thank you so much for the kind words. Having owned a e92 335 as well, I was so shocked by how different the M3 was. Sure the 335 can be tuned to make a significant amount of HP but it just doesn’t feel as balanced as the M3. Thank you once again for the support.

My step son's got one. It's a complete animal. I nearly sh*t myself when he took me for a ride. Incredible and unbelievable I've never experienced anything like that. He's right about the brakes and handling. It will stop on a tanner!!!!!!!!

Owned a M3 e92 for ten years from 2 year old saved 35k, basically 35k depreciation in 2 years unbelievable. No my weekend end garaged M3 is appreciating. Win win. Had rods changed under BMW warranty and recently changed alternators via main dealer. I’m absolutely in love with my factory frozen grey M3. Only use a car on weekends so it’s absolutely perfect for me. Still think it’s the best M3 ever…….LOVE IT more and more

No sir. The E92 M3 is a legend that garners the respect from the best of the best. If anything it’s a real drivers car which is saying a lot more when you see who the typical lambo driver tends to be lol.

I just discovered just how amazing these cars are and I've been looking for one that I love for the past couple weeks. I'm definitely nowhere near ready to purchase a new car, but within the next year-year and a half, do you think there's any tips or tricks that I need to know before committing to one?
@vtestdrive

It’s very important to properly maintain these vehicles and replace the parts with genuine whenever possible. Look out for the rod bearing issues (it affect a huge huge percentage of this car). If all is done right, let your engine warm up and then open her up. From there on, just enjoy! Thank you for the support.

Yea, if the rod bearings haven't been changed, change them! Regardless of how well it was looked after and serviced, go for increased clearance bearings btw, don't bother with OEM ones. I changed the bearings in my 08 one with ~73k miles, all the top shells were through to copper! (It was regularly serviced btw).

I’ve driven the E46 quite a bit and I completely agree with you! The E92 can be problematic but it’s quite the thrill to drive, on the other hand, the E46 is essentially a Go-Cart for the road. If I had to pick… E46 any day!!!! Wayyyyyyy better balance and such a joy to rev.

Enjoy driving your antique car. That is more of a vintage car than a modern car that you’d drive day in day out. This looks better than most cars on the road today in mid 2023.

If youre reading this, stay away from any BMW, they are dog shit. And youll be paying a premium to get them fixed. Stay away! I owned a 335i and an M3. Both of them were horrible for reliability.
