Very informative video. What I really like about it is you really break it down and show exactly what's what thanks for making this helpful video. Please make many more lol

On my 07 Yukon xl I have a position sensor and a switch. Two Separate parts on either side of the brake pedal arm. From what I found is that the sensor controls the torque converter/ cruise control and the other controls brake lights. I bought both parts. Cause I’m having two separate codes. One for the transmission and one for the ECM. One code says to replace the switch and the other says it could be either the switch or the sensor. Every video I’ve found shows the switch ad I’ve yet to find a video that shows the actual position sensor.

Thanks for this video. I followed your video to find out how my brake light stays on ignition code (p0724). My orange wire (blue on your vids) did have a light on my test light even after i changed the switch. Is it possible that i bought a defective one also?
@fixersautomotive4514

Yes it is possible. If your brake lights are on all the time or don’t turn on at all then you have a bad brake switch assuming that your brake light fuse is good.

@@fixersautomotive4514 thanks. my brake light fuses checked good. I will try and buy another switch tomorrow. Does P0724 code anyway associated with code C1201? I did have that code when before I had this brake issues. I had engine light, VSC flashing, skid light, and ABS light on. Thanks.

@@fixersautomotive4514 Hi. My brake lights function properly when ignition is OFF. I step on the brakes, lights come on properly as they should. But as soon as I turn the ignition on, brake lights just come on automatically. Appreciate if you could suggest anything. Thanks.

Is it fair to assume that the brake switch are good since they work properly when ignition is off? Thanks
