One of the greater endings to a NASCAR race ever. I am a Stewart fan so I’m probably biased, but the commentators did such a great job and nostalgia also plays a factor I’m sure. But damn, just shows how hard these guys race, especially Busch and Stewart. ( Their battle in 2012 with Busch barely beating him was amazing as well)

You do know they were teammates. I mean I am a KB fan but in fairness he did it on himself but remember the final lap, everything is on the line and everything was on the table and he did what he had to do it just didn't work out for him. Edit: Tony left JGR in 2009 to form Stewart-HAAS Racing and he was teammates with Kyle when he joined JGR at the start of 2008.

Why in the world should Kyle Busch have won the race? Stewart made a move on him, and Busch foolishly came up to block, wasn't clear, and put HIMSELF in the wall. Anyone "with a sense of what real racing is" would be aware of this. Furthermore, you say that "Stewart isn't exactly the white knight here" -- what are you talking about?? Did you expect him to back off and give the race to Busch in order to save Busch from his own careless aggression?? C'mon now...

Essentially, this is a replay of the Dega race where Edwards got flipped off into the fence, only reverse block. Stewart had the quarter panel, and Busch decided to perform his own pit maneuver.

@VictryIsNvrYors

are you trying to say that carl edwards should have won talledega as well? if you're a race fan then you should know that when you go to pull a second block on someone you're going to end up in the wall. stewart won this far and square. i've been a stewart fan since he came into nascar and believe me i'm not trying to be baised. also, you're saying kyle should've won the race, yeah if he stayed where he was after the first block. he would've probably won or got a close second.
@DJK83
15 жыл бұрын
Stewart should've moved over to avoid him?? Well first of all, there wasn't really TIME, with the way that Busch shot from the bottom of the track to the top with reckless abandon. But if Stewart HAD tried to move over, I doubt that would've PREVENTED contact -- but HE might have gotten the worst of it, rather than Busch. With Stewart in the process of turning right, that contact could've put HIM in the wall, or at least killed his momentum. So Stewart did EXACTLY the right thing.

Fans should be ashamed of themselves for cheering like that during a wreck that bad at DAYTONA before seeing if the drivers were alright! This isn’t Bristol where you hit the wall at 75 mph or 90 mph they’re doing 190 and these people are cheering because a wreck? People fail to remember no matter if you hate a driver or not you should probably wait to make sure they’re ok before you start sounding like a hyena cheering and clapping because no one should want 1 of these guys to get hurt or worse! Edit: misspelled a word
