I've had Hall Sensor #3 error code for a while but never repaired it. This video is an updated version of a previous video I uploaded. It keeps the content from the previous version but shows where I made mistakes and how I corrected them.
Hall Sensor #3 and wiring is associated with the Volvo C70's roof lift function that allows access to items in the trunk when the roof is closed. The HS#3 brown wire goes from the sensor to the trunk wire harness behind the rear seat side panel. The HS#3 yellow wire goes from the sensor to the trunk, joining the wiring bundle that continues to run through the trunk lid rail. Opening the trunk raises the rail, which pulls on the wiring bundle and stresses HS#3 wiring. When making this repair I was focused on movement of the roof cylinder below HS#3 and did not realize most movement of HS#3 wires are caused by opening and closing the trunk. Recommend before making this repair removing the side panel then operating the roof and raising and closing the trunk before the wire repair so you can see for yourself wire bundle movement before making splices.
