to be fair, this is one of those crystal clear incidences where the flag was literally thrown simply because the player got seriously hurt. and he didnt get seriously hurt because the defenders did anything wrong. it was just the perfect illustration of the bad things that can potentially happen when playing a violent collision sport. it wasnt a dirty hit, no one was head hunting. collie just go crunched in the most unlucky way between 2 perfectly normal and legal tackles. so its actually kinda fair to be upset for the defense to get punished even though they didnt do anything wrong, just because someone got hurt. doesnt mean youre putting that over the persons health at that point.

Philadelphia, PA. I'll never forget that because I had seen the same type of behavior from Philadelphia fans back then too. They're always the first to boo their own team. He shouldn't have thrown it to Collie here, as the defenders were in a great position to come forward and make a good hit on the ball. Not Peyton's fault for him being hurt, that's just why some blame it on him. Probably just an honest mistake from Peyton, as it was easy to mistake Collie for being open. There's a lot of what ifs here. What if Peyton wouldn't have thrown it to them. What if Collie wouldve dropped down instead of taking the hit like receivers today do? What if that back wouldn't have hit him in the head? If I had to point a finger, it'd def be at the Philly player, although I don't think his intent was to hit collie in the head like he did.

Are eagles fans blind. Go back to the replay at :35 and watch how violently 42’s head bounces off Collies head, he almost knocked himself out, definitely stunned him.

@Edwin C. you’re either blind or an idiot. Trust me I hate all the flags on big hits, but this is clearly a flag, 42 damn near knocked himself out. And btw he can now be a “runner” but still get flagged, which this was borderline runner.
