I notice that your Autel doesn't seem to open with a topology diagram, which is the same way my Autel MS906BT behaves. I wish I had access to a topology diagram, and I wonder if that is a failure of my scan tool or whether it also requires new vehicles. I've been too cheap to pay the huge price for annual updating, and I wonder if I were to begin paying for updates I would get topology. It's annoying to have to know which modules to look for to appreciate something is missing.

@sandrakeith7423

Why would gas needle not work? Fuse or sensor not bad?
@ablackformula
Жыл бұрын
Is there anyway a shorted component caused the ecu to short out? Hear me out here... say the car has an evap solenoid that is power side switched by the pcm, and the solenoid shorts to ground. The current going through the solenoid damages the ecu driver, creating a short in the ecu and blows the 10a fuse. You diagnose it properly and change the ecu, and it works and the engine starts --until the new ecu commands the solenoid to actuate as the customer drives away. Now a second ecu got shorted out. Am I just being overly paranoid here, or would it have been worth it to check just about every wire on the pcm?

If it wasn't shorted-- could you still have used that 2012 PCM in this 2010 Nitro? Maybe the wiring is slightly different in a 2012 vs 2010 and that's why it was shorting? You could have checked 2012 wiring diagrams just to confirm that it's the same.. Do you know if they are compatible or not? I don't see why they would be different.. but I'm not sure

I'm having a major problem with my 2010 Nitro.. My accel pedal (APP 2) signal drops out every few seconds.. I traced it down and pulled the plug off of the computer and applied power to my APP 2 pin DIRECTLY at the computer -- and it shows high/ 5v on the scan tool... Exactly like it would if I was holding the pedal to the floor.. (so I'm just simulating full throttle by applying power to the signal wire at the pcm -- through an LED test light)---- and even then, the signal still drops out every few seconds. So I know for a FACT that the problem is happening inside the computer. .. I talked to an ECU repair guy for these and he said that it can't be fixed, because it's likely the main processor.......... So I'm looing for another PCM.. DO you know if other years are compatible? Because I can find some 2007 and 2008 Nitro PCM's for under hundred dollars.. and I have an x431 Pro -- so I can write the VIN myself if needed. I just need to know: If I buy a 2007 or 2008 PCM-- will it work in my 2010 Nitro? Or do I need to get an actual 2010 computer? (which are all $350 or more for some reason.. I can't find one cheap like these other years). Any help would be appreciated- thanks. I subbed btw.. I like watching Ivan and Eric O and advanced level and scanner danner, automotive diagnostics and programming, etc. etc.. Mario, diagnose dan, Schrodengers box, etc.. I try to watch them all. :)
