Ok so I have a 2010 jeep patriot 2.4l I changed the spark plugs, ignition coil, and injectors. I'm still having a misfire in cylinder 3 got to do some reading on it and it said it could be the pcm so I changed it. Still having he issues. I also changed the valve cover gaskets as cylinder 3 had a little oil on the spark plug. After doing all of this I noticed it's been white smoking until it warms up and it goes away. Is that the head gasket that's causing all of this?

It could be a head gasket but you really need to do some testing. You are throwing a lot of parts at a problem with no direction. You could be inducing other problems.

@RobertDotterer I had started off doing the simple stuff first then talked to a mechanic and done some research and it started pointing towards the pcm so that's what had me to replace it. Trust me I didn't want to do to the cost and the other stuff I already had. What other stuff can I do? I don't want to tear the engine apart if that's not the issue though.

Cat is working ok under load, what's the time frame between pre cat and post cat going lean when you come off the gas? 2 seconds? Looks like it might be a little lazy and throw the code if driven gently but the misfires would have caused excess oxygen in the exhaust, post cat may have then shown lean under load and thrown the code.

I don't usually go after cat codes when I have a misfire I just fixed. I usually wait unless I see a very obvious issue with it like a rear oxygen sensor that just keeps switching.

Mine is 3 like always and only 3 replaced at 60 k 130k 150 k and now again at 195k I just keep a plug and coil in the car...im sure its something else internal but this is a quick and easy cheap fix

If it is burning up coils, I would look into a fuel injector or an oxygen sensor issue. You should probably try to find the issue before something gets damaged like the pcm. Hope my video helped you.
