I’m about to embark on the same project, your investigative learning is actually really helpful!

Thanks for the video! I am about to do the same thing for my 2011 Explorer xlt. Looks pretty simple. I replaced the front struts last year with no problems so this should go smoothly I hope.

Have you had the recall for the rear toe links take care of? That will definitely cause noise and vibration. I just had mine done and it’s a night and day difference.

at the time I wasn't even aware of that recall. (maybe I just forgot about it :) ) but got it done and there wasn't much difference.

Does it happen only when accelerating? CV Axle

No it also happen when coasting. But have a close look at he engine and transmission mount, especially the one on the bottom of the transmission, I replaced those and it help a lot, but still had a bit of vibration. Also check out the rear upper ball joint, i replaced that pretty mush eliminated the vibration. Don't change the driveshaft, like I did. That didn't do anything. that was a total was of money. I have videos for both.

Did you check the tire balance???

Yes. I actually installed my Snow tires with rims and there wasn't any difference.

Ok. Sounds like you may have a warped brake rotor. I had my brakes done a while back with the same problem and the vibration was gone after the shop replaced the rotors. Hope this helped.

This vibration may be coming from an imbalanced half shaft. Happens at certain speeds good luck.

it turned out the main viibration issue was the front rotors!

The hex nut is welded to the shock...You should frame jack the car and let the arm down all the way....then put a jack under the arm and take the load off. Then you disconnect the sway bar link....then take the lower shock bolt out...

I had a susption that it was welded but with all the dirt it was hard to tell. The new Monroe Shock don't have the nut welded.

Torque strut

Debes investigar antes de hacer un trabajo como este. El eje del piston lo apretastes mal. Tenias fijarlo con un socket allen y despues usar crowfoot para aplicar el torque si giro el eje lo mas seguro dañas el amortiguador
@InTheGarge
Жыл бұрын
