Here is one of the lifts at the Asda multi-storey car park in Worcester. This building is made up of a half floor design, so the odd and even numbered floors are only a few metres away from each other. This lift and another lift identical to this one serve all the floors. The big lifts on the other end of the car park only access the even floors (0, 2, 4, 6, 8) and omits the odd floors as they are away from the area of which the odd and even floors connect unlike the other lifts.
Anyways here is this lift. This lift is much quieter than the other lifts as it is away from the foot entrance to the car park. I didn’t ride the other lifts because they are much more busy than this one but I may ride them next time. This is a very nice Kone lift with a brilliant Ecodisc motor in it. I believe it is the MX 20 variant of the Ecodisc lineup. It’s a very nice and purpose built lift which is in pretty good condition for a 10 year old elevator. This is one of my favourite lifts in town because of how good the motor sounds, how efficient and fast this lift is and the fixtures are very nice. Kone definitely know how to do lifts. The only problem with these lifts is that they are pretty unreliable, in fact the other lift that does all the floors was out of service and it has been like that since last year! And pretty much everytime I come here, at least one of the lifts are broken. Kone’s older range of lifts do tend to be rather unreliable from what I’ve heard and seen, or either that or they aren’t looking after these lifts very well. Nonetheless these lifts are awesome.
