I appreciate the video Bro, everything worked out just like in the video. The only thing that I ran into is that rubber insert in the socket that holds the spark plug kept coming out once I put the new plug in, so what I did was take that rubber insert and placed into a newer 5/8's socket I happened to have and it never came back out. The rest of the install went well.

Nice video! Our used 2015 Camry has 204k miles. Mostly highway and Interstate travel. Seems to run perfectly fine. Should I replace the spark plugs? Should I put carburator cleaner in the spark plug wells to soak and lubricate threads beforemoval? What spark plugs arecommended? Thank you.

Use iridium plugs made by denso(since they are OEM) but NGK aren't bad either. And just replace the plugs as shown in the video without using anti-seize and do it in a cold engine or one that hasn't run for a few hours. It doesn't take long for a four cylinder 20 mins max unless problems arise.

I've heard a while ago that nowadays you don't even have to worry about adjusting the gap on your spark plugs. Is that the case with these particular spark plugs for 2012-2015 Camry?

yeah some company pre-gap their spark plugs. I wouldn't trust the no brand company and check them myself though. I trust ngk, denso and dealership spark plugs, I never had any problems with them.

Nice I like that you use the dielectric grease and also the anti-seize on the plug. If the coil has a plastic housing, I might consider to get a backup coil just in case the plastic breaks when extracting. Surprised these are plastic.

From your experience, how many miles before changing spark plugs (2007 Camry)? Some people said 120K because it has iridium spark plugs, some people said 80K~100K. My camry is 80K+ now.BTW, among your so many Toyota/Honda videos, there is no one about 2007-2011 Camry. Is that very similar to 2012-2016 Model? Thanks.

+Will Smith All iridium spark plugs are rated at 120k miles, but I usually change mine at 90k miles just because I like to do them early. Personal preference if you want to do it early or not, but that's what the manual fracture rated the spark plugs at. Doesn't matter which model's, I think anything 2003 and above is iridium spark plugs now. Don't quote me on that, but yeah.

You never use anti seize on aluminum. 1 you'll over tighten the plug possibly stripping the aluminum threads and 2 it eats away at the aluminum
@NutzAboutBolts
4 жыл бұрын
Youre right about 1 thing, you can over torque if you use anti seize, that’s why you use a torque wrench and follow the torque specs for dry and wet. but eating away aluminum? We’ve never seen that happen and we’ve been using anti seize on all our spark plugs thread for all of our cars and we never had any issues with it. Not sure where you’re getting your information. Any evidence of this?

@NutzAboutBolts

+TechnicaIlyInsane yeah 600$ is a rip off. I would say the spark plugs are less than 100$ and labor shouldn't take more than 1 hr to do with the electrical tools. Most shops charge 110$ per hr for labor, I'm not sure how they priced it to 600$ just to change out the spark plugs. I would stay away from those dealerships and only use them for TSB and recall services.
