Our 2012 Terrain SLT-2 with the 3.0 V6 has 203,000+ miles on it and is going strong. No issues. No complaints other than the turning radius is akin to a 5 ton truck and the suspension needs realignment pretty frequently, but with our Indiana roads, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

The Terrain of 2010-2017 is a fantastic car. It's really a shame that GM engineers can't put an engine in it that is worth the same as the little toys you buy with a quarter in the machines you used to see near the doors at the supermarket. Honestly...I don't know what I'd rather have...a 2.4L Ecotec or a little plastic man with a parachute...or a whistle....or a rubber ball. Too close to call.

That motor is notorious as being unreliability. It consumes oil and Consumer Reports just released an article that the GM 2.4 liter engine in the Terrain and Chevy Equinox is likely to need a rebuild. The car is very nice. Too bad you didn't get the 3.6 liter V-6. Much better engine.

I agree with you and that's the reason why I sold it.

My wife and I had an equinox. It started drinking oil like a drunk. I had checked the oil one day and it was full. The next day the engine blew. I checked the oil and it was empty. That was the four cylinder.
