It's been about 10 years now since this model came out & it still looks modern both inside & out. Wish Ford would start selling passenger cars again in the U.S. The Fusion was still selling well even when it was discontinued a couple years ago. My uncle leased one years ago & he liked it a lot. My main flaw with this gen Fusion is that it never offered a six-cylinder engine option until the Sport model came out for 2017 which is what I would go for, but it was expensive & it's fuel economy isn't great.

The dumbest thing you can do is work for a driving service like Uber and Lyft. You're going to get paid a very low wage, you'll wear out your vehicle faster than normal from daily long use, and you'll tank the value of your car very quickly because of the massive amount of miles you'll put through it.

The braking system of the Fusion is not electronic, it's still a hydraulic system as it uses brake fluid like you mentioned... all the switch controls essentially is a pair of drums inside the disc brake that clamp whenever the parking brake is engaged. Ford has some fail safe's incase the battery ever goes dead.

Everyone has their own taste, however a lot of people could argue Hyundai copied VW and Mercedes when it introduced the swoopy styling on the 2011 Sonata. We also did a review of the 2.0T Sonata and was not impressed with its driving dynamics. Give ford a change and test drive this vehicle first before making pre-judgments on it.

Right, so with a sticker price in that range, after the rebates and discounts expect to pay roughly $22-23 grand as the sale price. Sure it's not a fully loaded model, but expect to pay roughly $27,000 for a $30,000 Titanium model. Sure it is more expensive than the Altima but in our eyes, it's a nicer looking car with more tech features. Besides, if everyone drives an Altima at work, don't you want to break from the crowd and drive something else ;)

You have yourself quite a hard decision to make. While the Fusion will be more expensive at MSRP, you can option the vehicle up with leather, NAVI, larger wheels, tech features, and more color choices. With the Accord, you are limited to just two exterior colors (gray or silver) and no options, although the Accord is slightly better equipped but you cannot get NAV or leather/heated seats. We'd probably take the Fusion simply b/c the Accord looks a bit plain, the choice is yours though. Good Luck
@theredline

To get heated seats you must move up to the 205A luxury package which this car had. Just leave the climate controls on before you exit the vehicle and it will come on whenever you remotely start it.

We believe this vehicle is a top 3 in the class. $24,000 is a good budget, you could easily get an SE like this for that price. We would seriously recommend it but also check out the 2013 Accord as well. The Kia will probably be the cheapest but we don't like the driving dynamics of the vehicle. Test drive all 3 and decide.

To me, I think putting a key in the ignition is better than push button start. I don't like the fact that there is no need to take the key fob out of your pocket. Push button start, in my opinion, should be an option in all vehicles you can currently get them in. That's me though.
@aaronrodgers77

I get WHAT you are saying,just not sure why. "I don't like the fact that there's no need to take a key fob out of your pocket." Why? Obviously it's not the physical act of removing a fob from your pocket that's disappointing, Is it the mental assurance of the mechanical aspect that you think you'd miss? Engaging the key and starter, like manual shifting vs automatic? I have to admit, it is still a bit odd just getting out and walking away, no locking doors, no grabbing keys from the ignition. No getting in and then realizing my keys are in my front pocket, stabbing me, and I can't get to them without the big stretch. After a few runs, it's actually really cool!! (and I'm a long time mechanic and overall gearhead),
@OneworldOnelove36
10 жыл бұрын
I just don't think that with push-button start, there would be no need of getting it out. I would rather have a key than just the key fob to start the car. And plus, I think push-button start could break easier than a key would.
@oz_medias
10 жыл бұрын
OneworldOnelove36 In1986, I'd wholly agree with the reliability. In 2014, not so much. It has a key in it too, If the battery on the fob dies, insert it into the slot in the centre console and you can start the car. If the start button itself fails, it's only an electronic ignition switch, not exactly w headwrecker to troubleshoot. One thing I learned as a mechanic that started way back in the carb tuning days, the more electronic gadgets a car has, the easier it is to fix. It's just a matter of knowing how to diagnose instead of monkey wrenching. These days it's usually less effort to repair, just a matter of being able to know which modules or switches to replace and how to access them. This is why most people feel you need to go to the dealer instead of a general mechanic these days, and in most cases are right unless the mechanic is specifically trained for diagnostics or capable themselves. Then again, apprentices at dealers and even their seasoned techs will often jump to a false conclusion without properly diagnosing first. Nothing like getting stuck by just throwing parts in it.

Comparing the TSX to the Fusion can be tough. On one end, the Fusion offers more tech features, power, and fuel efficiency for roughly similar money. With the Acura name you get better service since it's a luxury car. However, the TSX does feel rather dated compared to a top trim titanium Fusion for example. We'd say test drive both and decide which one you like more. It's all up too you. Keep in mind the Fusion has a bigger back seat as well.

We just added the 2013 Fusion SE (w/Sport Package) to our little family of cars. The engine may not be the most powerful, but that's because the car is so heavy. Its heft actually adds to the refinement of its ride. It's a very composed and steady ride, without the bounciness and nervous motions. The torque is adequate, though. It will get you up to speed fast enough. And we like that "Mustang" gurgle when accelerating. It has very little wind/road noise. And no NVH. Steering is A++.

I didn't think to look when I test drove the 1.6L SE auto. I am replacing my 2003 5 spd MT Accord with either a 6spd MT Accord EX or a MT Fusion 1.6L SE. Fusion seems to drive quieter, smoother and just better, but the Accord has more features for the price and nicer interior and ergonomics. This decision is killing me - and my work productivity!

Interesting comment about the smaller emblem, which I like as well. I think its more likely to have people stop and look at the car, plus its more 'refined', as opposed to the late model Chevy's. And although I like many of Chevy's new style cars, I refuse to drive a car with such huge gold billboard advertisements all over the car. To me, it greatly detracts from the car, as in, ugly as hell. Wonder how those little 4 cylinder motors perform with 4 people in the car. Would've liked to have heard a little about the suspension, breaking performance, but thanks for the review just the same.

My 2.0 Titanium is a real sport for a mid sized sedan, even with AWD and auto. WhenI have a few hundred lbs of work "stuff" in the trunk and three full grown passengers in the back, it is no pep monster but it still gets up and goes. Braking is great, though I find I stop short of lights after driving my truck (or run almost them in my truck after driving the car), cornering and suspension is really nice, very European feel to steering and cornering. It's Ford's "world car" after all, made for all markets without local customization. It is not a sports car by any means but after a few Acuras a BMW, a C class etc. The Fusion really stands tall on it's own 2 feet, setting the bar for the class anyway.

That doesn't permit them to take massive styling cues like the lines and front ends of 200K Astons and sticking them on 30K sedans, it takes prestige and a feeling of "supercar" away from Aston and in my opinion, proves that Ford's styling is unoriginal and a bit desperate. Some people like these new fords, some don't. To each their own.
