I just bought this car, absolutely love it. The suspension thing is true, however there is an aftermarket torsion bar that can be picked up pretty cheap that corrects it quite easily. Not to mention, the sound of this thing once you put a nice aftermarket cone style filter on it sounds incredible. Absolutely recommend this car.

Just bought a used one today and was actually surprised by it. Is a little quicker than I expected. Sold my 2004 350z and wanted something a bit more practical.

The issue he speaks of with the feeling in the rear suspension is actually pretty common with front heavy hot hatches when they try to control the understeer with very stiff rear stabiliser bars. Adding a turbo up front (50+kg entra over the front wheels) would only exacerbate it.

that's because it doesn't have independent suspension and enough damping for firm tuned suspension. but it gives the sporty feeling to kids

5:22 it almost feels like you have a torsion beam rear suspension... because you DO! Its not a multilink independent rear, so it won't feel like one.

After doing lots of research I just bought the 2014 Turbo. I wanted a hatchback that gets good mileage and looks good with some kick to it. This fit the bill. The 3rd odd ball door doesn't bother me but the ceiling height in the back is an issue but I don't intend on having more than 2 people in there at a time anyways :P.

I have a Veloster Base, The base motor is peppy with a CAI; 8 seconds to 60 isn't bad with the 6spd. The VT and the base veloster both handle similarly. It doesn't drive like a economy car, so idk what he was talking about there. The rear suspension is a torsion twist beam, so it will hop when going over big bumps, another down fall to this car. The open front differential is an issue with the N/A Veloster, it always does 1-wheel peel outs, I could only imagine with 195pounds feet of torque :)

Turbo is obviously gonna have a little more kick to it, i have the turbo r-spec so i got the whole package :) of course turbo is just gonna give u those extra ponies, other than that very similar

You should test an R-Spec or Rally Version now. We love my wife's 2014 R-Spec.

I just drove a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, which probably has the same suspension setup as the Veloster, as a rental, and definitely experienced the same issues with the rear end that the reviewer did. A very spooky feeling car that I wouldn't buy. Conversely, my daily driver KIA Forte SX has a solid rear axle and is much more planted. Go figure.

im very happy with my veloster, i smoked a zo6 from red light to red light, not often do I see a younger person driving a corvette so I had to ask him to race, if the race had gone any longer he would have won lol. but from a quarter mile I got him

The shit suspension is also the same on the Elantra!! I hate it! Hyundai cutting costs and putting live rear axles in cars that should have independent rear suspension!
