I have a '99 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner. Wanted a fully secure truck bed. Looks like you don't make one for my year/make/model so I bought an Advantage Hard-Hat with a Pop&Lock on the tailgate. Works great and installed in less than 5min. Also, yours is more expensive than the Advantage and I saw a couple other videos that show how your locks freeze up - not reliable. Nice product though. I'm sure this is good for people who will pay extra for the front-back access.

ok so I just got one yesterday oct 19 2020 and install without the video was hard, i missed alot of thing like many adjustment points so i came to watch the video and what a difference the install took me around 3 hours but i was just doing it by my self, so maybe with another person it can be cut in half, if you watch the video while your installing it it should be straight forward, so far it looks nice my only complain would be that you cant lift the whole thing against the backwindow if you need all the bed space but im sure ill get used to it, I can say it looks very durable and I tried opening it once it was locked in place and it doesn't budge unless someone has power tools to break it i dont see this thing getting opened by unwanted people. ill update once we get heavy rain.

I just received my new G4 Elite Fold-A-Cover and was disappointed to see it arrived with shipping damage. The cardboard cover had several dents which resulted in a dent on the underside of the lid. I needed to secure tools and gear ASAP so I decided to install the cover and work with the factory on a warranty claim. I contacted the factory and was upset that they wanted me to return the damaged cover before they would ship a new one. They also refused to offer a credit if I were to keep the damaged cover so in my opinion, I would give them 5 thumbs down on the customer service. Now the installation, what a pain. The video does not adequately show all the parts, pieces and brackets that need to be installed for the cover. If you ever need to remove the cover it to carry a full load, its not a simple process. The cover also arrived with black silicone caulking oozing out of the metal frames and wiped all over the top and underside of the cover. It took me an hour just to clean up all the excess caulking. I like the fact that the lid can be locked front and back but the aluminum brackets are not as secure as I had hoped. A wider bracket would make the locks more stable because attachment points are sheet metal and tend to flex. I would not recommend this cover. Which I had bought the BakFlip like my buddy did.

(0) You are mixing 7/16" bolts & wrenches & 9/16" bolts & wrenches; Which is it:? (1) And exactly how do you propose to apply a X# torque value thru/with a box-open end wrench? (2) Some ting not quite rite here.

I really want one but did anyone else notice that the bulkhead end was slammed shut every time? Just saying, but awesome product just educating myself before I make the final investment.

+Matthew Cahoon Sorry for the delay in responding to you.Upon initial installation it is necessary to use additional force when closing the panels because all of the seals are extremely stiff and require a short break-in period. It should require less force over time to get the panel to close flush with the side rails. However, if you purchase a Personal Caddy, you are compressing the air that gets trapped beneath the front panel. So, when shutting the front panel over the Personal Caddy it is important to follow through with force to help the front panel close flush. Please contact us via email at support@foldacover.com if you have any additional questions.

can you flip up one section by the tailgate one flip and drive ? leaving the back section open?will it stay in place ? what holds it from flipping back at speed? if had something only in the back 2 feet and needed that part open? but wanted the rest to stay closed? if it cant do that then not thought out well.

Sorry for the delay in responding. The G4 Elite is compatible with the GM Cargo Management Rails, however, the Personal Caddy is NOT compatible with the GM CMS. As far as I know, the 2014 Silverado 1500 (new body style) is not yet being offered with the GM CMS.

You say on your web site that the 2014 Silverado install time was cut in half. Is this video the long version or short version? I hope it is shorter. Good video though.

Sorry for the delay in responding. There is a glitch in our notification system and we aren't being notified of new posts on our KZitem videos. The video has been shortened to be an "Overview" of the install process. The older model G4 Elite had a published install time of 1.5 hours and the new install time has been reduced to .5 hours for professional GM installers.

is it water proof and what's the durability on this cover?
@FoldaCoverOfficial
9 жыл бұрын
+BigPete No. Folding tonneau covers are not waterproof. The panels of the Fold-a-Cover are constructed of Aircraft grade aluminum and the brackets are precision machined to fit your vehicle. With regular maintenance, it is not uncommon for a Fold-a-Cover tonneau cover to last the life of the vehicle. Please contact us via email at support@foldacover.com if you have any additional questions.

i guess they dont care to answer questions and you never see them open the tailgate and close the gate without having to open the cover? funny i post this like i am going to get a reply
@daveharlan450

I just bought this, not happy with the product so my reply is based on my comments above. If you close the tailgate with the cover down, the back lid weather seal gets pushed into the bed and does not sit on top of the tail gate. You need to always lift the cover before closing the tailgate.

thanks , yeah i ordered the cover and put on not liking that part and not liking that you have to use a key and just cant hit unlock with the remote. I was hoping that i would not be bothered by it but i am already. had a roll up kind on my old truck kind of wish i would have just gotten something like that again. that was not prefect either. its on the truck now so i will have to live with it for awhile. if it drives me crazy i will replace with a roll up one again. the hard roll up. looking at your other comment the back flip blocks your view if you have it open all the way. all of the covers should be made to be able to only flip the back panel once and still be able to drive!!
