BMW's and Porsche's are great cars. The Lotus Evora is a special great car. My 2013 Evora makes me feel very special because it's a beautiful, capable and unique car. I feel part of a exclusive club. Having seen only 3 or 4 in my neighborhood in the last 3 years. Cars and coffee never gets boring. I usually have the only Lotus or the only Evora. This car drives like a dream and has never had any mechanical problems. I just hit 40k and no rattles or squeaks just pure driving pleasure. I never get tired of hearing "cool car" on almost every trip to the store. I don't know if BMW's/Porsche's get such praise because there's so many and they look alike. That's the difference between a great car and special great car.

"BMW's and Porsche's are great cars". Those are brands, dude. BMW has good cars and shit cars.

The -400 version is much improved in many ways.

FYI The Evora gauges have multiple illumination settings like mosts cars. My S shifts perfectly smoothly (usually), every once in a while i experience the "notchy" shift that some experience. I just chaulk it up to a Lotus-ism 😊

Good review. Just curious, why do you wear 2 watches?

I'm betting he like nice watches which is on his left wrist and looks like an apple watch on his right wrist to monitor health information.

Only one of them is a watch. The other is e-waste. But wearing two is a sign of going crazy I've always learned. People wearing 2 watches are off.

Great review. Is the Evora S’ throttle better than the 400/GT’s? I know the later cars have inconsistent throttle. And does the position of the pedals (how they’re set up more towards the center of the car) bother you?

Lack of dead pedal bothers me more. I’m getting used to the pedal offset the more I drive these cars. Throttle response would require me driving them back to back. Not sure

You get used to anything. Not trying to be mean to anyone in particular or be a grouch, actually this and Zygrene have great audiences, but like, WTF, car enthusiasts have become such babies the last 20 years. Like do people think Senna and Fangio were sitting there sobbing about imperfect ergonomics and whether the gauges had some stupid bezels? No. They got in the car and friggin’ drove the wheels off it and kicked everyone’s asses. But every car review now (not Jubbal or Zygrene) spends 20 minutes talking about the infotainment and all the stupid drive modes and crying about whether the door sounds good when it latches, or the knobs make the right clicking noise. “It should go cli-thumpclip at each detent. Mmm yeah, so satisfying.” Like, what the actual?? Yeah okay I love a nice interior, but give me a break everyone’s martha stewart now agonizing over curtains and frilly napkins. Drive the frigging car. Again not attacking anyone or these comments, just venting about all the handwringing and agonizing that goes on over every meaningless detail now. Cars had offset pedal boxes for decades and the losers whined about it while the winners were too busy lapping them to notice or care.

I'm just over 6'2, if I had a dead pedal (which is an aftermarket option) it would be horrible ergonomics having my leg bent. I'm much better just tucking my foot under the clutch if I'm on the highway. Otherwise I'm in the twisties with my foot constantly on the clutch
