Great review, Nick. I've never understood those that insist on having these Quattro equipped S-cars in manual format. The understeering nature of the car doesn't lend itself to hooning about in the first place. It's a safe, all weather, fast daily driver that works best with the S-tronic box. I owned the previous model with S-tronic and drove a friend's with manual and the above is quite clear. If you want something in this segment aimed at being more of a driver's car then get yourself the RWD M235i with a manual box.

Great review Nick, but, remember that A1 quattro, S1, A3 quattro, S3 (soon for the first time in USA; RS3) TT quattro, TTS, TTRS and Q3 quattro have Haldex system for traction, not Torsen, due to all these models have transversal engines From A4 quattro, the rest of quattro, S or RS models have longitudinal engines and use Torsen. R8 is and exception. Thanks for your all the information

Honestly, when I first hit play I was expecting a mediocre review. But the longer I've watched it, the more you surprise me. You had covered more ground about this car than expected. In other words, you went above and beyond with it. I was wondering how would the S3 compare to the S4 in performance. I was arguing with myself that the S3 would win over the S4 because of the power to weight ratio and this review confirms it. That additional detail in your review really helped people in making their decision which car to choose from for better performance. Thanks Nick. This review wasn't just good it was spot on and fantastic!!

couple things you should know as a reviewer. 1.the S4 is Supercharged not turbo 2. the M235I has an option for X Drive so yes it can be had with awd. the are a few other options as well for the S3, diamond pattern stitched seats & red calipers to name a few. Nice review Nick! I always enjoy your vids, especially like your nice + real-life camerawork and images. I especially like the walk around view that you always do. Gives a good impression of what the car looks like in real-life. Furthermore, the detail into which you discuss cars also is a plus, and something through which you distinguish yourself from other reviewers (incl professional magazines/websites). As for suggestions for future reviews: I would be interested to see what you think about the Jaguar f-type, especially compared to your experience with the M4 and 991. In addition it would be awesome if you could get your hands on a BMW Z8, hardly any good reviews on that car, but one of the most beautiful cars ever made imo. Lastly, the audi R8, many reviews have been made on that one off course, but your more detailed and in depth take would be interesting ;)

Great review Nick, lovely looking car. I note that a lot of people denote the car as 8 valves, this is an unusual step yet if my memory serves me correctly old 8V cars had benefits over 16v and higher cars in delivering low end toque, but could match multi valve cars in revs. I had an Renault 5 GT turbo back in the 1990's as my first car and that could rev to 8,000 RPM out of the box, but you didn't get anything extra beyond 6,500. Just wondered if this little S3 had a low rev range
@NickMurray
9 жыл бұрын
sugarsaint The 8V refers to the model generation not the number of valves. The S3's engine is excellent, developing full torque at just under 2,000RPM

i enjoy your videos, nick, but have one nit to pick: you consistently use the word "dampening" instead of "damping." damping is the work of a car's suspension. dampening is what happens to the interior of a 911 when you have the very unfortunate luck of buying a lemon and then end up driving it in the rain. (sorry, i couldn't resist.) keep up the good work!

Keiser C. You know the M4 is fun because of the endless punch in the gut power it delivers and the tire shearing way it gets from A to B in a cloud of smoke and horrified on lookers. The S3 is fun because it is so easy and forgiving to drive so much more so than the M4. The M235i sits between them.
