After lots of rain in the morning, the 2015 British Upright Championships almost didn't take place, but the club and riders just got on with it in very tricky conditions. In the 500cc class, Steve Green, Bob Dolman, Tim Curnock, Andy Gomm, Graeme Brown, and Nathan Morton all put their years of experience to use as the weather did it's best to spoil the day.
Tim Greig and David Knowles, and Trevor Claricoates put on some tremendous racing considering the conditions in the 250cc Solo class, and in the 350cc Solo support class, Luke Harris looked in a class of his own in the rain.
With the rain making the track very slippery, the power of the RH Sidecar support class was difficult to use, and making a good start was a priority, as once behind you would have to try and avoid getting filled in with mud. Paul Whitelam/Alan Elliott, and Colin Blackbourn/Carl Pugh looked to be the top crews, but in these conditions anything could happen.
